If you know you want a book so badly, but are afraid of the retail price. Do you Pre-Order books so you know you are going to get it? Such as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, I personally Pre-Ordered it so that I know I'm going to get it. So anyone else here Pre-Order?
(I'm sorry if there is another topic like this one!!)

I pre-ordered the new Harry Potter novel as well. I am bound and determined to have a book where it's not spoiled for me. My plans are to completely isolate myself until it arrives and I have read it. It will work this time, I know it.
Staying off the Internet and away from everyone during that time will get me a lot of reading done with other books. razz

Only books that are really popular, like Harry Potter. I can get most books pretty easy without pre-ordering.

I've only ever pre-ordered the Harry Potter books. I have my mom order through the library, so my copy actually arrives a week before the official release date. Of course, the library won't give it to me then because it's some kind of felony, but at least it's there when I show up at six in the morning for it! biggrin

I've never pre-ordered a book. Mostly because I know I'll spend the money during the time I'm waiting. I can't have money in my pocket and not spend it. This way I wait for the book to come out and buy it once I've got the money.

I don't pre-order too often...but if I find out about a book I have to have, I usually have to order it (after the fact) though my bookstore, since they don't stock enough copies of anything good.
I'm just going to get Harry Potter from the library. They've already got a waiting list started and after the last one, I'm in no hurry.

I'm too scared to pre-order xD I think I might reread the series while I wait to go buy mine.

I never preorder. When a book comes out that I want, I go around to various stores until I find it cheapest, and then get it there.
I get the Harry Potter books from a bargain book store around me. :3 They're cheap there.

I pre-order sometimes. Like right now I pre-ordered the 4th volume of Absolute Boyfriend which comes out in August. It's just easier to find the books instead of having to go around and find stores where they are not sold out.

I sometimes pre-order, but usually it's not from a bookstore. I usually pre-order it from Amazon, because I actually get it one or two days before it's OFFICIALLY released. Though I think it's a mistake of saying how long it actually takes to get to my house.
I also only pre-order if it's a series I really like, such as...the third book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, The Titan's Curse. That one arrived about 3 days beforehand, and I read it before it got to my Library... 3nodding Also, I think I pre-ordered Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows from it too.

If it's a series I am very interested in. I pre-ordered Ironside because I had been waiting almost a year for it to come out. My husband pre-ordered the last Harry Potter, and we'll probably be pre-ordering the new Sword of Truth novel when it's available. Borders makes it even more tempting with the 40% off hardbound pre-orders, you know?

I never pre-order 'cause there's never really anything other the Harry Potter books that I want to make sure I get, but my aunt always pre-orders the Harry potter books on Amazon.com and just has them sent to me instead.
