Plot

After the Tallest grow tired of Zim, they shut down the vast majority of his equipments [leaving his PAK, Gir, and Minimoose intact] after letting Zim know that his mission was a fake. They're also planning to come, posing an actual threat to Earth [a first from Irk]. Can Zim adapt? Will the Tallest obliterate life on Earth? Can they be stopped? Why am I doing the cheesy questions number? Probably because it's one thirty in the morning.

[Edit: Tak can be worked in somehow if you want. ;D]

Rules

1) I request literacy and 2) in-character-ness [Is there a word for this? It's slipping my mind]. That's really it. The rest should come with those two, and following guild rules and Gaian rules.

Zim: ZaDR
Dib: TheZeeMan

bic;; It was over. Done.

The Irken slumped back in his chair at the thought, PAK pressing into the fabric. Antenna drooped down, crimson eyes starting dully at the screen. He hadn't moved in two weeks. He hadn't been to 'skool' in that time, abandoning everything. Even Gir failed to coax him from his depressed solitude, failed to even get his master to acknowledge him. Boots hung limply, fading into the darkness of the lair without technology's light to brighten it. How could this happen? He was ZIM! He was supposed to be amazing...an invader extrordinaire. For once, he questioned these thoughts, hidden away deep in his basement.

Manicured nails dug into the chipped and broken desk. Pierced eyebrows twitched in annoyance. Zim wasn’t in school today and everyone had been asking him where the alien was. Dib rocked in his seat, antsy to get out of the prison called school. He needed to know what Zim was planning, something completely stupid, yes, but it could be deadly if Dib wasn’t there to stop it. The first week, Dib had run out there to see what was up and thwart the alien’s plans, but he chickened out because the lights were off.

Tonight, oh, but tonight Dib was going in. Whatever Zim was planning, it would never be unleashed. Dib would see to that…

Zim was startled from his angst by the sound of technology crashing, unable to bear its own weight without the supporting energy. He peered widely about, before recalling how much of his base was Irken technology. One gloved hand seized Minimoose's tiny shell of a body--he'd been shut down by the rays. "Come, Gir," He ordered, before pulling on his longish black wig, and heading out onto the streets with the "dog" in tow.

Where to go? He wondered. The answer came to him almost insantaneously.

After a brief, friendly chat with Professor Membrane, Zim slunk up to Dib's room to wait out the duration of school--not much longer.

The shrill sound of the bell startled Dib from his day dreams of showing everybody Zim's guts and revealing the alien to the world. Children shot up and ran for the door, others jumped out windows. Dib felt a bit awkward walking to the door and not have to fight Zim to get out of the class room. Dib had to admit, the room had felt slightly empty without Zim there to glare at and throw things at. Dib sighed and stood up, his trench coat billowing up ever so slightly with the new movement. He ran out the door, determined. Soon, he'd know what Zim was planning! Gaz had gone home before him, apparently, so he just ran home without a pause.

Once he arrived home, he threw open the door and threw hasty greetings to his family, then ran up the stairs. Membrane yelled something, but Dib wasn't paying attention. He soon opened his door. He gasped and stood stock still.

There was a certain someone in his room.

Zim glanced back calmly, seated on Dib's bed very calmly. His legs were crossed and his PAK pressed against the headboard, arms folded across his chest. He knew better than to make a fuss or anything. Still, the alien did seem a bit distressed under the surface, considering his dreams had been ripped out from under him by the people he respected most. His antenna drooped a little bit, but he still kept a bit of bite in his tone, just so he coudl continue being hateful Zim...even though he was, in fact, seeking shelter in his enemy's home. "Hello, Dib-human," He greeted.

"What the--" Dib cried, stepping back a bit. "What are you doing in my ROOM!"

Dib swallowed thickly and didn't take his eyes off of the enemy. Remember, the alien was probably armed. Look at the way he was laying, he could be hiding a laser gun or something. What reason did the alien have to come into his house... Unless Zim wanted to finally end it! Feeling completely naked without a weapon, Dib just growled and took a step in, trying to act as if he wasn't about to pee his pants.

"Answer me, Space Boy."

Zim couldn't help but show a tiny smirk. "Well, I was under the impression that I was lying on your bed, Dib-stink," He replied, sarcasm lacing his voice. He studied the human, perfectly understanding of why he'd be alarmed, but finding it irritating regardless. He didn't feel like explaining the entire predicament, though it was likely he would, anyway.

Sarcasm. Just great. Oh! And Zim was jeering at him! Well, not for long. Didn't he still have those Alien Sleep Cuffs hidden under his mattress...? If only he could get closer...

"Oh, yeah, thanks!" Dib said sarcastically, stepping fully into the room. He took a breath and walked within a foot of the bed. "Okay, okay. Now that you're here, tell me what you have been planning!"

Dib stepped just a bit closer and pointed at Zim's face, right were the nose would be.

"Don't point your finger at Zim." One hand irritably pushed the finger away. The stupid human. Oh, well.

"I'm not planning anything," He replied, as though this should be obvious.

"My base..." He narrowed his eyes, as though he disliked giving the information away to Dib but realized he had to. His teeth were visably gritted. "My base is currently down." He was, obviously, withholding information.

Dib only backed up a bit, holding his finger to his chest as if burned. "Currently...down?" Dib repeated. "What?"

Confusion swirled through his head. Is he lying, is he telling the truth, can I trust him? It was something Dib couldn't choose. Zim is a liar, but hasn't he told the truth sometimes? Unlikely at best. Dib formed a tight line with his lips and just stared for a moment before speaking up. This time, his tone wasn't as demanding before. Apparently he wouldn't get anywhere if he made Zim even more irritated then he already had.

He dropped his arms to his side to show that he wasn't going to attack any time soon. "What're you talking about?"

Zim didn't want to really elaborate, a brief moment revealing pain flickering through crimson eyes.

Irritably, he sighed. "Do you really need Zim to make that more simple? My base isn't functional."

The moment those words left his mouth; re gretted it. He was putting too much forward for Dib to see.

"Not functional..." Dib breathed, "That means you're...practically vulnerable."

That was a huge shock to Dib. Ever since he had known Zim, the alien was always making a plan. If the base wasn't working, Zim really hadn't been...doing anything. But, had it been working the full two weeks the alien had been gone? This should've been a huge opprotunity for Dib to capture the alien, but he couldn't get a grasp on that particular idea. Something else came to mind... But he didn't voice it. Not yet, anyway. It had to be conformed.

"Okay. I can believe that well enough." Dib looked at the alien with a scrutinizing gaze. "Why did you come here, then?"
PostPosted: Fri May 25, 2007 12:20 pm

Zim's teeth grit a bit at being described as 'vulnerable'. Not quite his thing, obviously. What narcissist liked to see his imperfections?

"Where else would I go, Dib-human?" His arms remained folded across his alien chest. "With my base shut down, GIR and I couldn't remain there. And your filthy Earth-bed isn't that uncomfortable."

Dib winced at the sound of grinding teeth. He'd made Zim even angrier. Must've been the vulnerable thing, but he was only saying.

"Uh, right, good point..." Where would Zim go if he just kicked the alien out onto the street? The point was, though, why did Dib care? Dib cleared his throat, suddenly feeling uncomfortable knowing that Zim probably wouldn't be leaving any time soon. "And...if I let you and GIR stay here..." Dib bit his lower lip. "How long would you plan to stay?"
