i will be the first to admit that at first i was watching the movies because i really thought the plot sounded good. i have tones and tones of movies that i have bought because i was intregued by the titles and wanted to see them. i loved Edward Scissorhands and i have seen tones of stuff by Tim Burton and thats probably my first run in with Johnny Depp. I have only just started watching the movies and giving them a shot because Johnny was in them resently, probably starting with Chocolat and moving on from there. there are still some of his movies i have no desire to see because the stories don't interest me at all. i watched part of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in class once as a presentation for someones independent study and was totally turned off to that movie. i probably wont ever watch it in its entirety just because i am not into that. i probably will never force myself to see Blow either because i do not like that kind of plot lines. so i i guess i am probably not the biggest depp fan out there. i think resently he has picked wonderful roles and the acting has been amazing. in the movies he is scedualed to do i probably wont see the Run Diary because it just doesn't sound appealing. and i am not sure i want to see the Liberten just because i don't really want to. but for sure Charlie and the Chocolate factory, i have to see finding neverland because i think i have seen every peter pan movie or anything having to do with that story there is cause i love it so much! and of corse POTC2 because i am a pirate i was before the movie and i love tall ships so yes i am seeing that movie because i can't not watch a movie with a big boat in it!
so how has everyone else gotten hooked on Johnny?
p.s he is a very hot man there is no question about that. that is just an added bonus to the great screne plays he has been in!

honestly i don't think i can remember eek i think i got it from my parents. they both enjoy Depp's work. i don't know what movie it was. i remember watching his movies when i was a wee girl. hahaha for those who are wonder how old i am now, im 18 xd the furthest my memory goes.... it was either What's Eating Gilbert Grape?, Benny and Joon, or Edward Scissorhands. i really can't remember. but i've always loved Johnny i guess. but i also think that Tim Burton had a thing to do with it too. oh wells, great love for both! heart

I think my first Depp movies were Edward Sicissorhands andn The Ninth Gate, but I didn't care about actors back then I just wanted to see a good movie. So my first Depp movie that I noticed him was Blow.

The summer of 2003, I was at my aunt's house and she asked if I wanted to go see PotC. I'd heard good things about it so I agreed. I liked Depp because when he played Jack Sparrow he reminded me of the singer of my favorite band... so then I fell in love him & the movie and saw it a few more times. Soon it became a Johnny obsession and then when I first saw the commercial for Secret Window on tv, I knew that I was hooked on him and had to see it.
It's funny because a while back, in one of my classes at school we had watched Sleepy Hollow and I was all like "So this is Johnny Depp? I don't see what's so great about him." And now I do. whee

I had seen a few of his movies before I started liking him but what got me hooked was probably pirates of the caribbean.

Ok, well it was PotC. But i didn't originally go to see Johnny. I went to see a pirate movie with explosions.
hehehe.
Umm, well i actually got hooked on Johnny the 2nd time i saw PotC. It suddenly hit me how good an actor he was. Then i saw secret window advert... and missed the film..... sweatdrop
So then i watched Benny and Joon which really cemented the obsession for me.
And in case anyone was interested i did eventually see Secret Window.. YAY

I remember when Sleepy Hollow first came out my parents let me see it even though i was only like 10 and I loved the whole head rolling thing i thought it was hillarious. Then I kept watching it and watching it till finally Johnny grew on me. Then I had to go out and rent tons of his movies.

Actually it wasn't a movie that first got me hooked on Johnny Depp. It was 21 Jump Street. He was hot and so was his character. The more I see of him, the more I like him.

I first got hook when I was like seven I was watching Nightmare on Elem st. I saw him and I feel in love. Ever sinces then I have been obsessed with him. THere are like four movies I still haven't seen of his.
