I've been listening to black sabbath and system of a down since i was in 1st grade, but whenever i'll start playing a beatles song, they always run to my amp and turn it off! who can say no to the beatles?! they dont even like stevie ray vaughn!

They seem to be very small minded, The Beatles invented modern day pop music!

joe-dude667 They seem to be very small minded, The Beatles invented modern day pop music! No. No they didn't. They did not invent Justin Timberlake, hip hop and rap. They invented good music. Music that it's actually pleasant to listen to.

lol. I love the beatles, they connect people who listen to heavier things and people who like lighter stuff.
And why is Justin Timberlake under the impression that he is the next David Bowie?

That's terribly depressing. Your friends are pussies.
How can anyone not like The Beatles AND Stevie Ray Vaughn? That's like saying you don't like Jimi Hendrix nor Led Zeppelin. It's blasphemy, I tell you! BLASPHEMY!!! scream

Keep playing those Beatles tunes, man. They deserve to be recognized, even if some of their songs really suck by todays standards. But they did a lot of things first (I could name a crapload of things, but I don't feel like it right now), influencing modern rock/pop in so many ways you wouldn't realize!

What songs suck by today's standards? Blackbird is just orgasmicly good, everyone should learn it on guitar.

I could never get into some of their "parody" songs though in particular, like "Glass Onion", haha, but that's me. They're still important in developing certain styles though.
