We could have each member send out three or so invites... or make a new requirement for joining the guild be that you must invite someone else as well?

mandatory invites are a double edged sword. it could expand our activity.....or it could drive possible people away. XP
i think banners are the best course as well as looking through other threads (ie: gd is full of people who could join the guild.....considering it was started there as well XP)
but eh. who knows....

I actually would prefer to keep it going the way it has, with banners and invites and such being optional to those interested in spreading the word.
Trying to drag more people in just brings in less people interested in being an active part of the guild, or people who would prefer to join just to cause problems/insult people. Some girls that might join might feel uncomfortable sharing photos of themselves when there are even more people who know where to find their pics and who are able to get ahold of them.
And I've seen a plus-sized group with over 2k members (not on Gaia) and among actual adults as opposed to the typical age-range found here, and there were so many problems with people getting in fights, popularity contests, and being immature.
I realize it can be somewhat frustraiting, but even with more members, you don't ensure more activity. And it's even more frustraiting finally getting to what started out a cool topic and seeing you just missed the cat-fight that ruined the topic. Plus, I prefer the sense of community with having members who I know who they are, I can even kinda tell you a little about some of the less-active members.
I think I actually found the guild through a post on GD, joined and was inactive for months... so hopefully if somebody really wants to be a part of the group they'll find it and join and be active.
And I've told my friend about the guild and she seemed interested and talked about joining, but then when she checked it out she decided it wasn't her cup of tea and didn't as far as I know... so even inviting people doesn't mean anythng xp

Makes sense. I guess I can't apply the same logic here as I do at another message board that's two steps away from an insult board. wink
But seriously, as you can probably guess, I didn't really think this through when I posted it. Maybe this whole low population forum will be fun. I've always been part of more active forums, and I guess new things scare me a little in a human sort of way.

Yeah, I just hate to see this end up with some of the problems I've seen in the other group. I'd like it if it'd be more active, but they have some major problems.
Of course, on this forum the women post naked pics, but there are many (read: majority) who don't because of fear of creepy guys finding them. I remember hearing of members here who have posted photos that have wound up in hate threads on GD. If my pics ever made it to a hate thread on GD I'd stop posting them immediately if I found out. I'm always afraid that some guy is going to start a contest, like hot pic or something, whatever--but I'm afraid it's going to turn into a popularity contest like the other group I'm in... and girls will be mean and catty to the girls that get the most comments and they'll feel like crap when they get less than the others.

You know for the longest time it's why I was hesitant in posting my myspace in my profile. Afraid someone would use it one of those hey look at the fat chick sort of threads. Then I thought, I'm hot. So they can post me where ever they like. May not be to the taste of some folks but I don't hurt for love. Besides I never post a picture of myself on the internet that I wouldn't mind other people seeing. Just makes good sense to me.

And that's totally right, and I agree you shouldn't be afraid to post photos of yourself up or photos you aren't happy with that it would upset you if somebody did that. I actually probably wouldn't stop posting pics, but I dunno because I think I'm too hot for them to make those hate threads about... so I don't see it as possibly happening xp
But I know I've seen some girls in here who have posted a pic thinking it'd be appreciated that aren't totally comfortable with themselves... and I was in the same place at one point and posting pics and getting compliments helps, but when you're too afraid to post the pics for fear of people getting them that won't appreciate you because you're larger it does keep some girls from posting. I would hate to see some girls (or guys) be afraid to be active and post.
