I'm doing a research project, and I chose Ambrose Bierce.
Has anyone read the Devil's Dictionary, and could you tell me your favorite definition?
Mine are:
"History: An account mostly false, of events mostly unimportant, which are brought about by rulers mostly knaves, and soldiers mostly fools."
"Kleptomaniac: A rich thief."

There's definitely an online version in the first link off of the title in Google.
It's a great satirical series. The definitions were all put in the paper a few at a time when he was alive, and the book is all of the terms compiled.

I read through this book, but there weren't really that many definitions that amused me as much as the one regarding history.

I love this book. Although, it uses it's novelty really quickly.

I've seen a bunch of excerpts for it in my series of Bathroom Readers, but I can't recall which one was my favorite.
