Since I'm not sure how many people know about the FaniMaid Cafe, figured I would place this somewhere.
Have you seen this? Have you heard about this?
(What's that crazy girl talking about??)
Why it's none other than Fanime's first ever.... FaniMaid Cafe
We're pleased to debut the first ever FaniMaid Cafe at FanimeCon 2007! Come join our maids and enjoy a real maid cafe right in the heart of FanimeCon. From hot food to authentic costumes, the FaniMaid cafe recreates the Akihabara phenomenon. If you've never had the pleasure of experiencing a maid cafe, don't miss this opportunity!
Hours of Operation: Saturday 2pm - 6pm Sunday 2pm - 6pm
Location: Convention Center Concourse level Marriott side. In the concourse nook between the Marriott and the Market Terrace.
------------------------------
Currently, the page isn't up on the official Fanime.com site JUST yet, but it will be soon. For those who have attended a couple Fanime's already, if you recall the photographer that was pulling people aside in 2005 for pictures for an upcoming American Cosplay book, that's where the Cafe will take place. It'll be just as you enter the convention center on the Marriott second floor~
So just curious how many people here are involved in the project, and how many people are interested in checking it out!

Ripped from Wikipedia:
Cosplay restaurants (コスプレ系飲食店), are theme restaurants and pubs that originated in Akihabara, Tokyo, Japan around the year 2000. They include maid cafés (メイドカフェ) and butler cafés, where the service staff dress as elegant maids, or as butlers. Such restaurants and cafés have quickly become a staple of Japanese otaku culture. Compared with service at normal cafés, the service at cosplay cafés involves the creation of a rather different atmosphere. The staff treat the customers as masters and mistresses in a private home rather than merely as café customers.

Loveless100 Question: Does it require reservations? Currently we aren't accepting reservations (from what I've heard thus far). It is a first come first serve, so be sure to be there early just in case! smile

AnimeEmperor I might go.....I don't know. If I do that's crossing a line that i'm never going to be able to change. Doooo eeeet. You know you wanna cross the line. Otherwise there will be thiss 'what if' enigma that will haunt you for all your days! The torture will be never ending as your brain constantly blames you for this once in a year time event! Before you know it, you will have heard that everyone and their dog would have attended the cafe except for you! You'll be shunned from social meetings as the 'guy that didn't go.' And the only way to redeem the one chance to get with the girl that you did so many random tasks for is to climb to Mt. Fuji, profess your love and jump off! Woe would be you forever! crying So you MUST go, for your very life, you MUST. <.< >.> <.<
