As per commentary in the suggestion thread, I'm considering transistioning this guild into a general sci-fi guild. ^_^ heart
Now, I realize that some of you are here because you wished for a kinder, gentler Star Wars guild.
Should I implement this, I am also taking suggestions for names.
And, it will be by way of majority rule, as well. ^^ heart
Frankly, I'm cool either way. ^_^

I will but one for Star Trek. Can I run the Star Trek section? Have you invited Edward Railington? (S)he's a big Star Trek geek.

We could make it a sci-fi guild, or even just a Wars/Trek one. In either case, I would like to suggest making a subforum dedicated to comparing different universes. By that, I mean, like a place for nerdy Star Trek vs Star Wars debates and stuff. Just a thought.

Celestia Whitesword Is that right? I'd love to! Yes! She could be help in the geeking department. I also have a British friend who is into Doctor Who and Torchwood, so she could help out with that area. And, uhm... Yes. Star Trek and Star Wars debates. I still like the idea of having a forum specifically for having-- not debates-- but fights. So, if you get mad at someone, you have the fight in a place called, "the battlefield" instead of in whatever thread. That way, no one will have their thread filled with crap, nor will anyone interfere. You could say, "one on one battle" and maybe doing this will not only keep things on a lower key, but stop fights short. I mean, they might make up during the fight because they geek out over fighting with light sabers, or something. IDK, but it just sounds like a really good idea to me. wink

Possibly, though we need to be careful in the set-up, lest said debates erupt into flame wars, which is the last thing I need. ._.

Oh noes! You can't combine Star Wars and Star Trek! Not unless you want the respective fans whacking eachother with lightsabers and swearing in Klingon. gonk

definantly need a place for the SG people, and the BSG people that are in teh guild.
now are you only htinking scifi as in Stargat, battlestar, star trek, star wars, twilight zone, or are you thinking all versions of scifi as wiki states scifi normally includes * A setting in the future or on an alternative time line. * A setting in outer space or involving aliens or unknown civilizations. * The discovery or application of new scientific principles, such as time travel or psionics, or new technology, such as nanotechnology, faster-than-light travel or robots. * Political or social systems different from those of the known present or past.
so if we follow that we'd should also include quantum leap *sweet* but then again Im just wondering XP

Jack: I'm even thinking the steam-punk type sci-fi, such as H.G. Wells and stuff from the old days. 3nodding
And, I'm also a Space Odyssey fangirl, as well. ^^

Hum. Why not just aci fi in general, and the mainstream stuff will be what we talk about? That way, if something new and awesome is made, we won't have to change the name in order to include it. ^.^ And Yes, Star Wars and Star Trek are both awesome, but in their own rights. How can you compare a movie series to a television series? That makes no sense! Though William Shatner is actually one of the biggest draws for me. It's hilarious to watch him act. XDXD And Yogurt. I mean Yoda. I do.

I'm all for general sci-fi. As well, I think it'd be clever ( if a little corny ) to try combining names from all that are involved.
I'm only in the know of SW having a Galatic Republic and ST having the United Federation of Planets. What others have, I've no clue.
But like, it could be " The Galatic Federation of Sci-fi... In a galaxy far far away, where no Timelord has gone before... "

I think we should direct our attention towards Sci-fi in general, but lets not mix series in RP's. For that only screws us.
Like colliding Firefly and Star Wars. Or god forbid the later and Star Trek.
But we must keep structure. If anything we must bend all we have to our will to keep structure within this guild.
