Mmkay, so I was on the bus this afternoon, thinking and fiddling with my pentacle necklace. This one girl looks at me, then says, "You're Jewish?" and I look at her like wtf and I'm like "What?" and then she looks at my necklace again, saying "Your... oh. Nevermind." So I say "Wait, what made you think I'm Jewish?" and she says "Your necklace. I thought it was the Jewish star." So I look at it, laughing a bit, saying "Heh. Jewish" 'cause I thought it was funny. And then my other friend Sarah gives me this wtf look and says "You're Jewish?!" And I'm like "No!" and she looks at my necklace and says "Oh my gosh, that's the sign of the devil!" and I'm like "No it's not, that's when it's upside-down and got the little goat head thingy in the middle." And then she looks out the window, probably thinking "Yeah, whatever, devil girl" or something along those lines. So then when we're walking home from the bus stop, my neighbor, Rachel, is with us, of course, and she notices my necklace, though she never notices anything, and she's like "You're Jewish?" And I just give her this blank gosh-you're-an-idiot look. The funniest part of all this is that I've been wearing my necklace for over three months now. xd
(And no, I don't have anything agains Jews, if for some reason it sounds like I do)

*snorts* been there, done that. One of my uncles asked me if I was Jewish. I just say 'no' and walk away. If someone can't tell five points from six, I'm not going to tell them the difference. Should have payed more attention in kindergarden.

*giggles* That's priceless! Hee hee, the school I attend is attached to a Seminary. I have been dared so many times to wear a pentacle...(and I would if I owned one. Note to self: get one)
Well, you get called Jewish. I get called Catholic because my Sophia necklace looks a lot like the Virgin Mary. Of course, nobody noticed the necklace until I had worn it for eight months... xd heart

Yeah, people are stupid enough to accidentally add one to the number of points they counted xd
My other friend Emmie saw it a few weeks ago, and she's like "You worship the devil?!" and I'm like "No. Just... No." So she's like "But you're wearing a pentagram." and I'm like "It's only the sign of the devil when it's upside-down and got a goat head thing in it." So she grabs it (still around my neck), turns it upside-down, grabs her pencil, and pretends to draw a goat head on it. I just laughed a bit and rolled my eyes. She's goofy.
I've also got a pentacle ring. The only thing I worry about with that is that whichever way you wear it, someone's bound to think it's upside-down. xd

Jeez, you're right. eek Your friend sounds a lot like me. MY friend decided, in a conservative Christian class, to declare that I'm Pagan (which I'm not), and told everyone in the building that I was. Then the next week she changed my name to Shakuntala, and decided that I was a Hindu. And she told everyone my necklace was Mary. xd heart

Your friend sounds quite... interesting xd
Oh, and as for the pentacle necklace, try getting some silver clay and make one out of that. That's what I did. It's a small, nickel-sized silver disk. You have to make sure to use a pin and put a hole in the top before you bake it, though, or else how the hell will you ever get it on a string? xd I made that mistake the first time. Anyway, while I was at school for the first few days after I made that, I took my pencil, drew a pentacle on it, and then carved into it, still using the pencil. Then I put a big glob of gold Sharpie paint on the cardboard box I had with me (I was selling chocolate with the color guard), dipped the pencil in it, and put it into the ditches. Only problem is, some of the paint is coming off of the circle part around it, and I lost my Sharpie collection xp Next time neither of my parents are here, I'll take a pic of it to show ya. 3nodding

The pentagram, right side up, is primarily used in witchcraft which at the higher levels is openly the form of devil worship. This is what I found from me research and people should really research things a lot more in depth before they jump to conclusions. Sooo, you should thoughly look into what symbols mean and their history and also, what your getting into, be careful, witchcraft isn't a fad or something cool cause everyones doing it, it's serious and can be dangerous.

I'll have to pull out the ol' sculpey and try my hand at that. I've only made sculptures with it. Oh! Instead of Sharpie, have you considered liquid gold leaf? I recently bought some to colour in the engravings I make in stones (calcite--angel symbols mainly), and it's BEAUTIFUL. It has real gold in it, generally, but isn't too expensive (at Walmart, it was the same price as the gold sharpie). It dries VERY fast, and sticks a lot better than acrylic paints. Also, you can buy sealer as well to make the colour last longer. I highly recommend it. heart

Then you're also aware that the Pentagram was an early symbol for Christianity? Oh, and that the cross wasn't orignally a Christian symbol, either. Please don't jump to conclusions, either, my friend. EVERY religion has their positives and negatives. Yes, some witches probably do use their craft for devil worship. But that in NO WAY means ALL of the higher levels do! That's a terribly rude and rash thing to claim, and is blatantly false. And, yes. I've done my research as well. If my school offered it, I would have majored in symbology.

So yeah, it was used by a famous Biblical figure. About the cross is partially somehwat true, but the version of the cross that was used by pagans is significantly different than any version used by Christians. So I'm NOT JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS, thank you very much, I researched this. And really, all the higher levels do! or they really aren't that high level, and I'm not talking about skill. So I wasn't being rude or rash, sorry if you though I was being that way.

So I wasn't being rude or rash, sorry if you though I was being that way. Taken from Symbols.com, because I put all my symbolism texts into storage. http://www.symbols.com/encyclopedia/27/2721.html"What we do know with all certainty is that the pentagram was the main ideogram in the logotype or official seal of the city of Jerusalem during the period 300-150 B.C" "In Western ideography the pentagram appears on some of the crusader (Christians) knights' coats of arms." "In Nordic countries it was drawn on doors and walls as protection against trolls and evil." Taken from About.com "In later times, it was used by medieval Christians to symbolize the five wounds of Christ" Taken from Pagan's Path: http://www.paganspath.com/magik/pentacle1.htm"The pentagram was also used by the Hebrews as a symbol of Truth and for the five books of the Pentateuch (The first five books of the Hebrew Scriptures)." "Prior to the time of the Inquisition, there were no 'evil' associations to the pentagram. Rather it was a form that implied Truth, religious mysticism and the work of The Creator. The Emperor Constantine I, used the pentagram, together with the chi-rho symbol (a symbolic form of the cross) in his seal and amulet. However, it was the cross (a symbol of suffering) rather than the pentagram (a symbol of truth) that was used as a symbol by the Church." I could go on, albeit the last source is going to be biased. I'll be more than happy to dig out my books from storage if you want to hear more. Basically, it's not true that only Christians who practiced devil worhip used it. And, no. You can't make a sweeping claim that all high levels are devil worshippers. Show me your proof and research. The cross part IS true. Do you realize there are HUNDREDS of crosses used by Christians? The basic concept is the same, despite how different they may be designed. So, if you want to continue this, please cite sources. Also, as a side note...I'm not Wiccan, I'm not Pagan, and I'm not Christian.

I also heard of that too, but it wasn't used very widely because of it's association with pagans. I've also discussed this with a pastor who's studied ancient Hebrew history and he's never heard of it; he thinks its a bad idea to get that information from a pagan site because Hebrew isn't a pagan religion. Wings of Aegis The cross part IS true. Do you realize there are HUNDREDS of crosses used by Christians? The basic concept is the same, despite how different they may be designed. There are a lot of different types of crosses, but most of them, are purely Christian. There are some variations that are pagan such as the ankah. I got this information from "Christian Symbols", a book that another close friend owns. There is no ankah in the book and I have found the ankah in a witchcraft book. I don't think my necklace has ever been mistaken for the Star of David but my friend's mom said that I shouldn't wear it because it's a devil symbol >.< To me, symbols are what you believe them to be, just the same as curses or spells. You have to believe in it for it to be real.
