I noticed that there wasn't a good CC thread, so I decided to start one. This is a place to discuss the upcoming game for the PSP. Feel free to post your opinions, but try to be a bit more in-depth than simply whether you think it will be a good game or not. There's already a thread for that.
Instead, try posting things like why you think it will be a good game, what parts you're looking forward to, what you think of the new characters, etc. Also, you can use this thread to ask questions about the game.
I'll start with one: Does anyone know the what the US release date is, and whether it's been realesed in Japan already?

Well, I've always wondered about Zack's past, since he's always been my favorite character. When DOC came out, I was shocked an appalled. "A story about VINCENT? He's not even important! What about ZAX?!!!".
And so, finally, I am getting what I always wanted!
I'm really curious about Angeal, since Zack supposedly "looks up" to him. Also, Angeal is supposed to be the REAL orginal owner of the buster sword. So, I want to know how Zack inherits it, and why Angeal has an angel wing, blah blah blah.
I'm actually VERY curious about Genesis... how did he cease to exsist/what happened to him? Did he know Cloud or anything, and things like that.

My first poster! *gives hug* That is one sweet picture of Zack whee . Where did it come from? It's not from any official art I remember... You know, Zack looks almost exactly like Cloud, except for hair color. They could almost be brothers! Anyway... I always thought Vincent was important. If not for him, Lucrecia might not have acted the way she did, etc., and the FF7 storyline might not happen. Of course, Zack is important too, even though a lot of people (casual ff players) still don't know about him. As for the sword... Who knows, maybe Angeal got the sword from his mentor? smile I'm pretty sure I've figured out how Zack gets the buster sword, but I haven't posted it for fear I may spoil it for someone (or because later when CC comes out, I'll be completly proven wrong XD). I think Angeal has an angel wing for the same reason that....you know who I mean. Probably something to do with the SOLDIER mods. Although, if that were true, does that mean every member of SOLDIER is capable of exhibiting that surprised ? I really like the addition of Genesis and Angeal; I think it gives the story a lot more depth and realism to show other members of SOLDIER that we haven't heard about before. As for what happened to G, DoC (though I haven't played it) seems to give some information on this. If you haven't gotten the "secret ending", then you missed out on some. I don't think Cloud would know about him anymore than he would know about, say, Angeal. I've heard some people suggest that Cloud may be his son eek . What do you think about this?

The picture came from a Japanese site about Crisis Core... I don't remember the link, sadly enough. I couldn't understand anything either, but that picture... I LOVED it. It became my new favorite picture of Zack. <33 XD I just think he looks so.. EVIL. Well, maybe not evil, perhaps sly. An expression you wouldn't see on Zack much, if you will.
Yeah, but if Vincent was 'so important', why would they have made him a minor character? :/ I LOVE Lucrecia, I just didn't like Vincent. His character was as dull as all hell, there was like, little to no personality. Advent Children Cloud had more personality then him for gods-sakes. (Misses the old Cloud.)
I think, that Vincent is fairly important, but not important enough to have a whole GAME dedicated to him. I side quest just like Yuffie had, would of done just fine. Or maybe flashbacks of his past or something. Not a whole, poorly done, cutscene mania, choppy shooter game. xD
Anyhow...
Ah, well post what you think! I'm just dying to know people's ideas! X3 Angeal having a mentor.. hm, maybe that's Genesis? X_X Maybe Angeal also has the name "one winged angel" or something like that. :O
I haven't finished DOC, so I wouldn't know, lol. DOC was too painful to play, I really couldn't stand it. I'm basically playing it now to know more about Lucrecia, because she's always been one of my favorites.
Cloud.. relating to Genesis? That's strange, since he's just a rookie and hardly knows Sephiroth at the time. (Well, from what I'm thinking. Unless Crisis Core is delving RIGHT into the Mako Reactor where Sephiroth goes nuts. Which they can't, because that's basically the end of Zack's story right there.)
SON?! Wtf. Technically, Cloud like Sephy doesn't HAVE parents. True parents, anyways. I don't think Cloud is Genesis's son. >_> That would be weird, or a really lame twist. Plus, Genesis looks fairly young, and being the prototype of Sephiroth-- I just don't see that idea working. XD

From what I know, the release date is around the end of August, but Im not sure if thats the Japanese date or the American date. That HUGE bit of information was sadly left out of the picture.
But yes, Zacks story will be a wonder to behold. Itll give us more insight as to his relations with the characters we know he had such with. Zack and Aeris will be an interesting discovery, since its one of my choice pairings in the FFVII Universe. Zack and Clouds relationship will be delved into greatly, which is something Ive always longed for. Also get to find out what the world was like during a time of war. Should be a damn good time.
Vincent is one of my favorite characters to use simply because he is another tortured soul. His torment, just like Clouds, is all from himself, and I like that in a character. DoC wasnt exactly the best game, but its good to know what happened to the characters people werent necessarily meant to know that much about.
Genesis and Angeal are interesting tosses into the mix. Word from about the time Genesis was seen for the first time is that hes a prototype of sorts for Sephiroth, but that just seems like hes a role model for Sephiroth in a way, just as Angeal was one for Zack and eventually in a way Cloud. But hey, I havent done much research into it because I like stories to surprise the hell outta me, so theyll be interesting to learn about and so on and so forth.
About Genesis being Clouds father......I just dont think so at all. It seems like fans trying to bring justice to a character growing up without a father. We know Cloud has a mother, since we see her during the game, and it seems insinuated that the father left. Thats closure enough for me. Cloud is the product of single parenting and a shunning from his fellow town members which turned into a goal that lead him to become the mentally unsound hero we know and love. Leave it at that.

Ya, as I was browsing around earlier today I saw that the Japanese release date was early August, so the States will probably see it around the Holidays at the earliest, based on past experiences with their skillio in release dates.
And on the Genesis thing, I havent played DoC where we actually learn anything about him in a long time, though that shall soon be rectified as Im starting a new file in a few hours.

There's a theory that Genesis is the first to be exposed to stagnant mako, thus linking him with the Tsviets. Still remains to be proven, however.

I got all but one of those on my first two playthroughs. I always missed one of them and just didnt end up getting it, which sucked, but its alright. Ill find out soon enough. Probably by noon tomorrow. Plus, with this playthrough I should be refreshed and well enough versed on the story to be a better help with it, kinda like I am with the original game.

I liked ZackXAeris up until I read Maiden that Travels the Planet. ><; Well, I guess it's still a pairing I'm liking right now, but I've always wondered what Zack did to make Aeris... I don't want to say forget, because she didn't but... not feel the same as she did in Crisis Core. I'm wondering... it just can't be because he never came back. :/ Because, in MTTP she said that someone who 'loved so many people' couldn't be a lover. And Zack said, "That's mean, I love everyone." So then, Aeris responded with "That's the bad thing about you. You're not timid or quiet like Cloud."
I'm wondering... did Zack cheat on her, or was he REALLY that flirty with others? *ponders*
I'm just wondering.. if Crisis Core would clarify that. ^^;

@ Lunar - It should be cleared up in CC. Im personally not one for the novellas because of their origin, which is from fans and later sanctified as official, so its plausible, but not necessarily fact.
