History: How He Gets To The Island The boy was rushed to the hospital nearby and was given a quick look over. The doctors verified he would need to have a doctor called in from America, seeing as none of the staff in Europe could fix the boy. He'd apparently seriously damaged his lower body when the beam collapsed on him. So, a man was called in from The United States and he started the surgery. But as soon as the operation was almost complete, Micah died of internal bleeding and blood loss. Or so the doctors had told his family. Items Brought To The Island:
- A dark grey backpack that seems to have been hurriedly packed.
- A ragged looking stuffed rabbit.
- Various pens and pencils.
- A Folder filled with white paper.
- A tattered looking notebook scattered with half finished Drawings.

Yeah, Someone that might be described as "Psychotic" would probably wouldn't be Feral Lab's first pick to experiment on, its one thing to be fairly nomal off island and then become mentally deranged because of the island's experiments (like Julian), its a whole other thing to already be mentally unhinged before showing up.
However you can fix this up so it can work out!
First thing I would do, cut out the Orphan, abandoned as a baby, taken to the Orphanage piece. Its a little Cliche to say the least.
if you still go with he whole locked in the cellar scenerio, I'd only have him trapped for 2 days at most.
also: severely reduce his mental problems.
Randomly lashing out in violence: Bad
Having 'seizures' due to "Too many colors" : Bad
It be more interesting and plausable for Micah to have overprotective, over bearing parents that send him to a psychiatric hospital even though he is completely healthy mentally, but is introverted/completely different personality than his parents- (rebellious teen?) and so, just by being himself, his parents send him to the psych hospital.
Then maybe after he gets released, he takes an offer from Feral labs to get away from his parents

Take it from someone who's been questing for as long as I have, normal people are the ones that are most likely to get on the island. The island has enough people with issues as it is, and remember most of them used to be prefectly normal before going off the deep end. It was a mistake I also made when I first started questing, and looking back on it I was being really stupid. sweatdrop

You might want to look into the practice and policies of mental institutions. I don't think they could send him there, even if they wanted to give him protection if he didn't show any real signs of being crazy, although I have no idea how French asylums might work. I would imagine if they're that rich they'd be more likely to hire a full time nurse for him to constantly watch after him at all times, and maybe forbid him from leaving the house? Maybe that inspires him to try to break free of their oppression- although heck, when he's in the normal hospital recovering from his wounds after the accident, Feral labs might have swooped in right then and there and gone "Oops, sorry your son died in the operating room, there was nothing we could do" although in reality he'd be treated and then shipped off to the island? (that's if Feral labs had connections with the hospital Micah was being treated in?) As it stands it feels like you added the mental institution bit just so he could have gone to one for amusement sake, when it doesn't seem that necessary or likely. I think there's ways you can orchestrate events to flow a lot more naturally and realistically and still come out at the end with a similar emotional result on the character. (This is all just my personal opinion! I won't be offended if the ideas are all rejected X3 <33 Just hoping to inspire! )
