Has anyone here ever introduced lolita to your friends, and then they got into it because they like the clothes, but they know nothing about the attitude and stuff. Or they just generally have more money than you so they can get better lolita clothes??
For instance, I have a friend who I got into lolita, but she's kind of giving lolita a bad name because she's calling herself a lolita but not really acting like one. I feel almost guilty that I introduced her to loilta in the first place. Has this ever happened?

I'm not one of those people who has an "Elite Complex" or anything. I guess it just irks me when people have a really bad additude and get all defensive when talking about lolita as their style. I know people who totally got the wrong idea about lolita from such things.

If it bothers you then you should try and tell her about it,but not in front of a group or anything...like when its just you two.

Some of my friends think it's a neat way, but they aren't really into it. When I see other people in Lolita I just get excited. >> I want to touch the fabric and try the outfit on and take pictures. It's just such a gorgeous way to be. I can't afford much so I have to find and make things, but it's a bit necessary for me because of my mismatched bust and waist measurments.
I suppose I can understand your point. I'd prefer if Loli's would act kind and mannered, but I'd prefer that for most. Simply because she wears the fashions, does not mean she has to be a Lolita as a person. Try to bring her deeper into the world of Lolita. If she doesn't like the lifestyle, then she can wear the clothes. Both are lovely.

Hm, I'm not so bad about it..seeing as I can have a foul mouth sometimes, myself. Haha -Nervous cough.-
But, if she's wayyyy off track, tell her politely that maybe she should act a little nicer..? If shes one of those people who think they're better than everyone and refuses to change, I'm not sure what you can do. It hasn't happened to me because only one or two of my friends are slightly into it.
By the way: 'Poser' is a difficult question, dears. I read the dictionary..is that a bad thing? gonk Anyway, 'Poseur' is what you meant. I don't think there is any such thing as 'poseurs' myself. You are who you are. Same goes for Lolita. It's only bad if you're totally trashing the style..getting up in it's GRILLZ, yo. XD I'm sorry for ranting, but I've been on a roll lately! xDD

Ehhh. I think the only "qualification" for being able to wear something is thinking it looks good. As long as you're not doing it just to be popular..
If the person in the clothes is an a*****e, it shouldn't reflect on the outfit itself =/

Just try to show her that having a good attitude should go along with the style. But don't be too bothered if she doesn't change. I prefer people who dress lolita to have manners, act elegantly etc but it isn't a requirement and if their personality is different then don't try to change them.

i had a friend where i didnt get her into lolita... but she was already into it... and giving it a bad name...
basicly, she would wear a bunch of pseudo-lolita stuff (skirt + no petticoat + collared shirt + striped socks) and run around like an idiot like "LOOK AT ME IM DIFFERENT AND JAPAN IS COOL!" so basicly, she didnt make it look slutty or anything... she was just one of those immature "otakus" that give any kind of j-fan a bad name...

Yes! Ugh, I know exactly what you mean. And I don't really think that there is a certain way Lolita's should act, but I think that it's unfair that my friend just flaunts it.

"Act like a lolita"?
Ok, is that an american thing because I hear ALOT of american (and Europan) lolita's go on about "Acting" a certian way or there not really lolita.
If acting they way I have heard other americans describe as lolita, then about 3/4 of the loli's here in Japan arn't lolita, including me.
