hehe... i saw the other two sax topics and i thought it would be cool to have a soprano one... i just picked it up after lunch today, and my friends said i have a nice, dinstinct style on it, and that it doesn't sound like a dying duck. it's fun to play. have you guys played it?

Well I do not own one but, I play one for our school. Anyhow they are a neat and fun instrument to play, however try to find a song that doesn't contain a soprano saxophone solo. And mosts songs that dude include it are not really instrumental based. Don't argue my point, I love all saxophones.

I play soprano sometimes, I try to take more of a John Coltrane approach than a Kenny G one. I think the company that makes mine is Antigua Winds, nothing too fancy

I play a curved Soprano. It's called "The Woodwind". Having not heard of the brand, I was wary or it, but I love it. It's got a great tone and response.

I haven't tried playing it, but I used to play clari before switching to sax. My jaw tends to get tired from playing the alto, so I can only imagine that'd happen sooner on a soprano. I actually prefer the bari sax. Some day, I hope to try out a bass sax. Wish me luck! xp

Well I actually like sopranos as well. But in our bigband-workshop there was this lady as a guest with her soprano ( a boston she told me) and it sounded more than bad. She was killing the section-sound cause she played with the tenor 2 (she had told us she was playing tenor so we did not have any soprano notes) and way too loud.
Plus I think that for someone with a less good hearing for tunes it is hard to go to a smaller sax because the intonation gets hard in the higher tones. It sounded like a duck that was suffering bad pain.. No wonder if other ppl in the band (from the brass section) make stupid jokes about saxes now razz
