First off, HI!I'm new to the guild and just wanted to post up a forum mrgreen (I hope I did this right!)

Anyways, I have already created this one and decided "Hey, why don't I post it up here too!"

Hello gaians!

I've been looking around and I found a site agrueing about whether or not the Wii charge station made by Nyko was a good decision to buy or not to buy?

I've found good reasons why you should buy it and why not to, and I couldn't really decide. SO, I was wondering if you could help me and other people who wanted to know.

By the way the price for this item is $29.99

Just in! The Wii Charge Station Is NOW in STORES!!! So, if you were one of these people that wanted to buy one! Now's the chance!!!

Here are some reasons pro and cons that i've read about it:

Pros:

I have changed the batteries a bit during game play which gets a bit irritating. Also I have rubber wiimote covers which are quite a hassle taking on and off. This should surely be a good money saver too on all those batteries I would have bought. Even if I had rechargables, I would have hassled with the rubber covers so great buy in my opinion.

I have rubber gloves on my remotes and it's pretty hard to take them off when replacing the batteries. With this carging station, it will eliminate the problem. With the money saved on the batteries, this charging station is paid for by itself over time.

I hav a wii an i'm constantly replacing the batteries i've been waiting for another company to make this. It's only $30 which is a lot cheaper then buying batteries forever.

Is this just about rechargable batteries? Yes...an no. Yes, you can buy a charger and batteries seperately. Yes, they'll work just fine. However...for people like me who keep my remote in a glove (keeps it nice and clean for me) it's a pain to take the glove off each time to get to the battery cover. What this is about is gving you the ability to charge the batteries while they're still -inside- the remote. This means...those batteries are only ever for the remote their in, no one else can snag them on you...and you don't have to worry about putting the batteries in or taking them out (less chance to damage the battery cover). The leakage problem is an issue, though, since they're using regular NiMG batteries. Would be much better with Lithium-Ion.

This looks promising...and useful. Sure you can buy 4 rechargeable batteries and a separate battery recharger (8 battereies if you have 2 wii-motes), but if you can just place your wii-motes directly on the station at night, it is a lot easier.

Cons:

Having seen the catastrophe that was their Xbox 360 rechargeable battery packs, I wouldn't trust this battery pack as far as I could throw it. As a retail emplyee, I returned every one I sold because they just plain sucked, even after they "fixed" them. It's kind of annoying changing the batteries all the time, but his isn't going to be any different. You're still gonna have to stop and either change the battery or wait for your controller to rechage. I seriously doubt these batteries are going to magically last twice as long, if even AS long, as a normal pair of Energizers (if they hold a charge at all). Batteries are batteries, and whether you're charging diposable ones, rechargeable AAs, or these packs, it's always gonna be a pain. But, in my opionon, it's better than dealing with trippin over cords. Recharageable AA's ftw... (i don't know about this one...but i'm pretty sure their talking bad about it! XD)

I have to laugh at the comment that we shouldn't be using rechargables because the manual said not do so, that the batteries could leak and ruin our Wii-motes! Honestly! How many remote controls, ipods, etc, die from leaking batteries? Have you ever seen one? How about one that leake (green funny color stuff) and the remotes still keep working? Nintendo is p***y footing around the fact that the Wii-motes are perfect for recharables. It's harmful to the enviroment to use disposable batteries, no matter how cheap you can get them. I'm going to go watch TV now...let's hope the remote's batteries don't "leak" out into my hand, oh no!!! lol.

Unless these are different than the other chargers the controllers do not charge through the bottom. The reason thy "throw in" the new battery covers is because they have a metal area on them that matches up with where the charger charges them. So this isn't the perfect solution if you have the gloves, it's worst case scenario...unless you cut a hole in the glove, but even then the added 2 millimeters of distand might be more then the reach of the charger.

Common people be reasonable!!! Buy yourself some rechargable batteries. Although that we have a control (the thing the manual says that it is not ok to use rechargable batteries) think about the enviroment and money...since i bought my wi and the batteries that comes in there went out I had been using rechargable batteries and it's the same *bleeped out word* thing! No lacking! WAIT yeah, there is something different I ain't spending money on batteries that i could be spending in games. So don't buy this thing is not worth it, they are just sellin the idea of a super recharger that beacause it is Nyko's maybe won't work as well as simple batteries.

I don't see all the fuss about this thing being soooo great. I have had my wii for 4 weeks and i haven't even replaced the controller batteries. I actually play about 4 hours a day, somedays up to 8 hours. No big nee, just use up batteries youfind EVERYWHERE, Oh, and batteries are SOOO expensive, i got a back of 100 AA batteries for about 20 bucks...

What would you choose? Buy or not to buy? That is the question! Have an opinion about it? Write it down and let the world know what you think! Don't be shy Come on down! mrgreen

P.S. If you post up here, you should come back and check if i reply back....Because I most likely will! (cause I have no life till i get a wii xd )

I've never heard of this... but by looking at the price, it's probably only available in the US now. I'm British. Anyway, from reading the Pro's and Con's, I think I would definately buy one... I'm starting to run out of AA batteries and they're outragously expensive around here.

Wow! You typed A lot!!! xd heart

And I have to say.. I'm going to buy it!! For my two reasons:

1. So I don't run out of AA batteries, and when I do run out of batteries then I have to wait till I buy new batteries to beat the game xd

2. To organize the room. It'll look so much more organized with this, though I'd still need to find some place for the nunchucks xd

Hmmm... they could have built a pocket for the nunchuk... now you bring it up... but, nunchuks don't need to charge... and I think it isn't meant to be used to organise your room, I think it's only for charging... but it could be quite useful... blaugh It's a nice idea... biggrin

Yay! Posts!

To Wolfie Kid: Omg! Your British! I love how you guys talk! (i try talking with the accent, but i'm down right horrible... sweatdrop ) Idk about if it's in stores in Europe, but if Europe has EB Games or anyother game place i'm pretty sure they have one...But don't rely on me on that question... xp

To stupidxaznxboi: Is it bad to type a lot? xd

1. I like your first point about getting it...But wouldn't you still have to wait for the wii-motes to charge up if they run out during your game play?

2. That's the first time I heard that one before, I would've never thought of that...Organized AND it charges your wii-mote!!! What a deal! xd

Well I am in the same boat as Wolfie, since it isn't out over in Britain yet I can only stare at it with longing eyes. I have pre- ordered it, because it will just serve as a better money saver in the long run.

So I guess that's a yes by me, although that no argument is very convincing. 3nodding

Welcome to the guild by the way, always nice to see a new face around! mrgreen

I envy you Americans... AND the Japanese... you two ALWAYS get the coolest things first... while we either have to wait, or, in some cases, we never actually see it on our shores!! NOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Get one: it does wonders for your health as well as your street cred... but be warned - in my first week of playing it, I suffered heavily from a condition I like to call 'Nintendo's elbow'... sweatdrop
