Or is it just me?
Seems like the few items I've invested in are gathering dust, waiting to hit a price where I can actually make some sort of profit. Two items are waiting on miracles, or at least a lot of time. Two other items keep bordering on profit-territory, but then a few antsy sellers manage to bring the price down - it's like an every day thing and has been for weeks. I was doing really well through about the 3rd week of February, when I blew through a quest for an angelic pendant.
Now it seems I'm collecting more stock than pure - my gold buys my "specialty" items at lower prices in an effort to keep the price stable. I really don't want more of some of this stuff.
I feel like a surfboard dealer waiting for summer to come.

Buy more! Any item that is limited is almost guaranteed to rise in price. As for making your gold, buy/sell game items. They do not lower in price because the rates are the same...

I'm all bought out. I've got a killer inventory - you should see my house...lol...and my mules! And stuff in storage is pretty insane, too. Some of these things I don't want to sell, e.g. the pendant, kiki, coco, solar headdress, CN scarf. I have only one each and I don't want to be in a position where if I want it again, it's an insane price. Where duplicates are concerned, I just don't like the prices yet. I know if I sell an Aug 06 letter for 15K now, I'll kick myself when it's 100K or more in a matter of months.
What I want is to get on a roll with the items I've invested in - and it's so close, yet so far. If I get rid of the stuff I bought just to get rid of, it would mean 200-250K - but only at the prices they're sooooo close to reaching.
Thank goodnes for the wooden trunk that just bounced on my screen! 2.2k is mighty tasty right now.

I've seen the slump. I think it's due to all the updates. Good if you are buying, bad if the price of the item you bought lowered dramatically. You will either have to wait it out or sell your stuff, take a loss and keep on going.

At the point, the decision is based on this: if you sell all your stuff at a loss, just to get the gold, will you have enough gold for whatever your quest happens to be? Since I'm questing for the impossible, I guess waiting it out works. wink

Ugh, it's terrible-- I was working with september and november 2006 letters, and I was doing great and suddenly the margin dropped from buying for 11-13K and selling from 16-17K all the way down to 10K. I could have kept buying, and for a while I did, but it just WASN'T going up!! D:

I'm thinking it has a lot to do with the fact that there are a lot of new expensive store items, plus the fact that the Feb. letter had 3 items in it. People who want the gold to buy these things right away are sacrificing other items at low prices just to get some gold.
Then there's the little issue of the marketplace flooders - but they've ALWAYS been around.

Yes indeed it is horrible to see it going... But I tried to get it up a bit, did not work a lot... Just tried to but up the cheap ones and then sell for 200 more.. It worked a bit and then it was down again.

omg..I totally agree with you it was a good thing for me for a little bit, because I managed to get the guitar of demona and angellus for 88k and 99k
but then when I started vending again..omg..they just wouldn't go up! gonk
as song that jane likes mentioned, it's probably because of those ridiculously expensive french item things and people are selling their stuff for gold

Nods, "A friend of mine is a Admin, not on my friendlist so no one can but 'them' but the reason they made the new expensive french item was to drill a hole into the gold that is floating around the MP, making a crater into it, causing Deflation of alot of the items, making a crater, give it about 3 months before we even see a rise in out once high priced and mighty items once again, I am disapointed but a little glad that the items have dropped, it's making it so much easier to quest now for the items that I would like to have back."
