Yay, my first thread on Gaia! *celebrates*
All right, the first topic I'd like to cover here has to do with a fun little game by the name of Jump Ultimate Stars for the Nintendo DS. It is currently only available as a Japanese import, and due to licensing issues it will probably remain that way indefinitely. However, if you are an anime fan (if you're in this guild, you probably are), you owe it to yourself to give this fantastic piece of software a shot.
My query has to do with deck construction. In Ultimate Stars, you play using a 20-koma deck made up of characters from Jump manga. Naturally, the Spirit detectives are readily available for use in combat - that isn't my problem. The problem is that I have only managed to concoct one decent deck using Yu-Yu Hakusho characters. I'd like to know what you guys (and gals) can come up with. In the spirit of fairness (pun intended), Behold! My best Yu-Yu based deck to date!
Demon Rush
Battle Characters = 2 Urameshi Yusuke (Yu-Yu Hakusho); 6-koma, Deck Leader Frieza (Dragon Ball Z); 6-koma
Support Characters = 2 Kuwabara Kazuma (Yu-Yu Hakusho); 2-koma, hot-linked to R button Bianchi (Katekyo Hitman Reborn); 3-koma
Help Characters = 3 Genkai (Yu-Yu Hakusho); Equipped to/Supports Yusuke Dio (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure); Equipped to Yusuke, Supports Frieza Orochimaru (Naruto); Equipped to/Supports Frieza
The heart and soul of this deck is an all out offensive rush. Yusuke's secondary Special Attack and Frieza's primary Special Attack are fast, multi-hit combos that can be difficult to launch correctly, but are very hard to escape from when they do (launch correctly, that is). Kuwabara's Spirit Sword Rush (not the technique's real name) can help to alleviate a little pressure and is just plain fun to screw around with. Genkai auto-guards for Yusuke and Orochimaru regenerates Frieza so that you can focus on what really matters - grievous bodily harm.
Well? Don't be shy - post away!
P.S. If anybody has or knows of other Yu-Yu Hakusho related gaming goodness, by all means stick a note here!

Because I do not yet have Ultimate Stars, I can only inform of other YYH gaming goodness. First, there are Yu Yu Hakusho: Spirit Detective and Yu Yu Hakusho: Tournament Tactics for the Game Boy Advance. From what I understand, YYH:TT is a strategy-type game. As for YYH:SD, I am unsure. Both are available in the US. Then there are Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament and Yu Yu Hakusho Forever for the PS2. Both of these are pretty straightforward cel-shaded 3D fighting games. However, only YYH biggrin T is available Stateside. (Damn you, gaming regions! *Shakes fist*) ... and that's about all I know. sweatdrop

Region problems, eh? One more reason why my handhelds are my special friends - they're region free!
So Tournament Tactics is the one for the GBA? Odd, I thought that was Dark Tournament... Regardless, I'll have to give that a look. Since it's been out for a while, I can probably find it for cheap somewhere.
I distinctly remember seeing ads for the Spirit Detective GBA game, though. I think it was along the lines of an action game. The part that really stuck in my mind was the ability to play as Kayko - it'd be fun to see how they pulled that off.

Your deck...seems to good...for a beginner....is this the actual card game?Or the video game that uses cards? If this is indeed the real card game I simple suggest hunting down a few item cards called the spirit ring and the spirirt spyglass....oh and the speical card rejuventation....its a healling card You might also want to look into the Botan and Hiei's little sister( can't remember her name) chracter cards...both of these cards can heal demage and when hiei's sister is combined with either Hiei or Kuwabara, they get a nice bonus....oh and here's a thought....try and get Hiei and Kurama....they just might help

The Yu Yu Hakusho Tournament Tactis for Game Boy Advanced SP is actually pretty good. I've been addicted to it for awhile now, and have almost completed the game.
The Yu Yu Hakusho Dark Tournament for Playstation Two is pretty much a fighting game. You go through the tournament, and fight the opponents. You also can battle against friends, of course. It's pretty good, not the best, but I like it.
