Am i the only one talking in this guild? where is everyone? from what i know, People involved in theatre are only quiet in the wings during a performance. The rest of the time we're crazy rofl Just to be different, lets talk about the different times when we've just blurted outsomething really loud sidestage

I don't talk in general
I'm a lighting kid, I go in, do what I have to do, and leave. Not much other then that, no reason to be loud and annoying.
Actually, non of the lighting kids in my school are really that loud and annoying, sure we joke and stuff, but all of us are rather quiet.
Guess its a lighting kids thing, you have to be tall and quiet.

Well, It wasn't me, but I was the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, and in the poppy scene, people were supposed to throw "snow" out onto teh stage..and I was standing too lcose to the curtian and one of the techies throwing teh makeshift snow hit my head with their hand and th "snow" we were using got all up in my costume...it was not pretty... but anyway the techie was like "omg im sorry in the middle of the show..." ya thats pretty much it...

It's kinda hard to be quiet when you are a theatre person. I mean if you are an actor. When you are a techie or lighting you kinda get used to being quiet as you can in the wings. But you learn to express your character and project and you want to express yourself in your life. Although you might seem quiet to people when you are not with your friends. Like me, people think I am a quiet studious person but my friends will tell you I am far from it.

She is quiet though... the sound head, though... that's another story ^^ I'm loud. We generally get pretty noisy up in the tech booth during practice. But, during tech week and performances we can shut up when we need to. Though, I'm not in the tech booth for the current play. I'm assistant stage manager :]

I'm super shy and quiet, except with good friends. I mean, I'm extroverted, and I think you have to be to be an actor, but I'm extremely shy. It really comes as a motivation in my acting, rather than a curse. And everything is completely different onstage, or course.
Also not be, but I was teching the fall musical earlier this year, and everything was going wrong, so all the techies were running around cursing under their breath, and then something went wrong with an actor, so she said some mild profanity before realizing her mic was on. Hmm =) Luckily, I don't think anyone in the audience heard her, but it was quite amusing.

I'm a funny person, I just have to trust those people I'm around with my humor! xd

I think actors tend to gravatate towords acting because the more out going vocal people, the true techs on the other hand tend to be shy we like having our work speak for us, though as techies go i think i tend to be even quieter the most, it's only when i'm partying with my ren friends that i start to relax...

anomali3 Haha. The lights crew head at my school is probably the shortest person I know! She is quiet though... the sound head, though... that's another story Haha, I always joke with the other theatre majors that you ahve to be this tall *holds up hand* to be a lighting kid. I'm 5'10 and I think the shortest lighting kid is 5'8 or 5'9. Some of the other (non-lighting) majors are like "yeah, i tried lighting once... but i'm too short..."

.:.Shocks is speaking.:..:.Not too sound overly pretentious or anything but I like to keep quiet before a peformance to keep my head in the play and character....it's just my thing
I'm a strange theatre geek I'm very shy and quiet but that's because I like to observe and listen to other people because it gives me ideas...
But generally aa a rule I'm quiet weither I'm acting or in production before and after a peformance I just like to keep focus.
Then I go bonkers at cast dinners/parties XD hehehehe.:. .:.Shocks has spoken.:.

before, during, and after a performance...but when I'm not doing theatre I'm a very reserved person. Not many people would picture me being so dynamic on the stage at all when they meet me in person wink razz

I think that the only time that I'm quiet is when I'm in te wings. even when I am, I usually dance, or something, but subtlly enough so that I don't distract anyone. Last time I had to be really focused on the play though, since I had to through a makeshift cantaloupe on a cue
