Here it is...

Prologue

“Red!”

Red shuddered. His owners called again and he crawled deeper into the garden. He hated his name. Red. Disgusting. Why do they have to call me that…name if it is one. His owners gave up and he heard them go into the house. I don’t care, I’m not coming in…anyways…

Red was a good sized, almost maroon orange tabby. He lived in a large green house with two humans. Every night he would come in, eat his food, and then curl up grudgingly on his owner’s laps. He wanted to be somewhere else, be someone else, have something else…well; just have a new name was the main thing. But then there was that feeling deep inside him that said…I want to be wild… But how? If he went into the forest at the edge of his property, there would be foxes, and badgers, and… He shuddered again. There would have to be other cats, a group of cats…wild cats.

No. He started a sad walk back to the house when he stopped. Something rustled in the leaves behind the fence that separate his property from the forest… this rustle was on the other side of the fence. He froze. The leaves rustled again.

Something was moving through them. Something his size. It is just a small badger? A raccoon? Then a quiet voice said in the back of his head…Or a wild cat?

He stared at the spot. Unaware he had ducked under the fence and out of property. Waiting. Waiting. He was torn between running for his life and the strong pull, of curiosity. The pile of leaves rustled again and Red saw the shape under the pile come to the edge of the dead leaves pile. Then just before he thought it would break out of the pile and attack, or something, he noticed he was standing in the middle of the clearing. The moonlight shining down on him like a spotlight. Thinking quickly, he moved silently and stealthily to his right so he was behind the cat n** plants.

He peeked through the leaves and waited, breathing little. A butterfly fluttered around above him then fluttered away above the leave pile into the forest. Red’s eyes, flicked to the butter fly and right when they did. The pile burst. A black and grey and white blur flew out…at the butter fly! The butter fly vanished. When the creature landed, red gasped. A cat…a wild cat, and in it paws was the butterfly, unhurt. Then the stranger cat sniffed, let the butterfly go, and turned his way.

Both cats stared at each other for what seemed like years, the wild cat a blank, or confused expression. Red, just plain surprised. The wild cat spoke in a voice that told Red they wasn’t going to attack, just…talk. “Who are you?” the cat said now revieling they were a she. Red hesitated and absurd ideas raced through his mind. They might report me. They might get reinforce cats… No! They are friendly! He unwilling cleared his throat then said awkwardly. “R-red” He stammered, feeling dumber by the minute he look down at the ground the at the she-cat. “Who are you?”

The cat looked at him with the same expression the suddenly grinned. “My name? ShadowSight.” Then paused, grinning broader. “And…er…what kind of a name is Red?” ShadowSight seemed to be trying not to laugh and Red felt his face growing hot. Then with out being able to stop him self, for the first time, he burst. He told her all the stories of him, as a cat living in a house, how he had always wanted to be wild, how he had looked into the forest all the time thinking about what might be in there…And last of all, how he hated his name.

She stood there, looking almost dazed then said quietly, with no trace of the grin or carelessness, “Oh…Okay…” They looked at each other again, and Red felt an odd feeling, he had never felt it before. He felt, and odd tingle and then he felt, looking at her, standing there looking at him…He felt as though he wanted live his whole life with her. He didn’t want to leave her.

It was totally silent. Then Red said, trying to strike up a conversation, “So…tell me about your self, and the forest, you already know about me.” She smiled shyly, then started her story. Her very long story. She told him about for clans that lived in the forest, called EarthClan, SkyClan, ForestClan, and RockClan. ShadowSight told him how she was in ForestClan as a warrior and how in her clan kits because apprentices, then warriors, then elders. She told him about how there was a medicine cat, a deputy, and a leader. She told him the leader in her clan was called TreeStar, and she told him how apprentice’s names always ended with ‘Paw’. Leader’s names always end with ‘Star’. And how warrior’s names could end with anything. When she seemed to have told him everything she kept going. “You see each clan has their territory. Clans can only hunt on their territory. But recently, SkyClan’s scent has been found in ForestClan territory! We think they are going to attack soon!” Her ferocious look fell and she paused guiltily, “You see I’m actually supposed to be on patrol right now.” She flashed him a grin.

The stood grinning at each other for a moment, then ShadowSight tackled him. They playfully rolled around beside the fence for a few minutes. A rolling ball of fur. Suddenly ShadowSight stopped and she stood up. Her ear were up and listening. Red new something was happening so he went tense as a cold shiver went up his back. She didn’t move. Alert. Scared…Tense. “Run!” she whispered not looking at him for her eyes were focused on the forest and were darting back and forth. Red new he must do what she told him but something was holding him back. He was being pulled both ways when, he came to his senses and dove into the garden. He didn’t want to leave. He was about to force himself to go back to the house when he heard other footsteps behind the fence. He peeked through the leaves of the garden and saw two other cats came out of the forest. He held down a gasp, trying to stay calm. Both of the cats where toms. Big toms. Red gulped. One was a gray tabby, and the other was ginger with black stripes. Both were looking at ShadowSight. They didn’t look happy.

Chapter One

ForestClan

WindPaw sprinted across the rocky terrain of hills and slopes and plunged like a sparrow down Sunlight Mountain’s rough and chaotic face. Leaves and branches wiped the young tom’s face but he didn’t care. All he cared about at this moment was his mentor.

ShadowSight was missing.

That had been like all others in ForestClan camp. WindPaw had waken up like all other days and went to find ShadowSight to train…WindPaw leaped out of his den happily and smiled to himself in the morning sun. He pranced across the grassy ground and across the open clearing of ForestClan camp. He glanced around camp and saw that only a few cats were out yet. He smiled to himself again and padded happily towards the warriors den so well hidden in the mighty mountain side. He stopped at the entrance of the den and peered in. It was empty. It wasn’t a big deal…then. WindPaw shrugged his shoulders. “Hunting.” He murmured to himself confidently. “I’ll find her later.”

WindPaw almost struck himself for his stupidity that morning and he quickened his pace through the thick forest.

That afternoon, WindPaw came again to the warrior den…the young ForestClan apprentice saw no one on the cave like den and this time a nerve struck was let loose. WindPaw’s stomach clenched. Where could she be? WindPaw thought devastated. ShadowSight had been there for his since he was a kit! She couldn’t just disappear!

“The boarder!” WindPaw said suddenly aloud and skidded to a stop in the middle of a forest clearing. “If any…” He hissed slightly. “SkyClan cats have been on our territory…they’ll pay!” He voice was getting louder as he got mad all over again but he snapped but to reality just before he was going to blow. He couldn’t waist time. For a moment thought about what he had to do. He was ready!

He stuck his head high. Catching the wind he searched for a scent. Yes! He pin-pointed his location was as he was taught by (he sniffed) ShadowSight, though, he did it with pride. Changing direction, he blasted off again, through the thicket and under brush. He ran hard for what seemed like ages and finally he came to his destination: the Boarder. The boarder between ForestClan and WindClan territories was a large flowing river that splashed rapidly and raged with a huge sound that was concealed by the thick wall of tress on either side. The River, Ever Running. The sound of the raging river pounded at WindPaw but he pay know attention. He raked his mind by the side of the rapids. He was searching for any memories of any fact or conversation he had about… He was searching helplessly then he slapped himself. “I have to start somewhere of course!” He exclaimed to himself. “Yes…” He whispered to himself while he thought aloud. “How would WindClan get here?” He paused, knowing the answer. “There is only one crossing, which is....” He stopped abruptly. That was a lie. WindPaw gulped, there was another way. A secret way. A passage he wasn’t supposed to know about. In a hoarse whisper, WindPaw made sure he was still alone. “Shadow Den.”

I really like the story idea, but you should go through and proofread it. I saw several grammer and spelling mistakes. Also, some of your sentences are a little choppy, but otherwise it's good.

Hmmm...Yes. I'll do that when I have time. And to tell the truth, it's not my favorite o.0 I wrote this part of it a while ago, and my style has changed alot xp

Surprisingly, Arran, you are a really good writer... you just... lack commitment... sweatdrop I'm not saying I'm any better. It's taking me three years to write my novel... and I still haven't finished it yet because I keep starting more.

Just a quick note to Lemminglord: you know that fantasy story thing you started in the Grammar guild? It's.... kinda.... dead. I've tried keeping it up there, but it's just prone to falling to the next page. crying
