Well, I have this really dodgy shoulder rest, and it's way too flexible, so it keeps slipping out of place, and before you tell me to push it in firmly, I already tried that. So can anyone give me advice or tell me how to fix my shoulder rest? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

Shoulder rests... Gah. I hate them. I used to have one. But I hated it. Now i Wish I had it. but I still hate them. I'd suggest making sure you put it on the right way. What kind of shoulder rest??

Um...it's a 4/4 violin shoulder rest, but the shop assistant said it was okay for a 3/4 size viola. And a lot of people agree with the shop assistant. And I'm pretty sure it's put on the right way, since this grade 8 violin person tried playing using my shoulder rest, and it kept falling off. Anyway, thanks for replying. I was kinda worried that no-one would reply... sweatdrop

Its kind of like rockstops not sticking to the ground. Or, I suggest finding another store, that sells them, and bring your violia with you. Ask them if you can try it out and see if the one they have works...
