Hello, I am a 12 year old girl named Jess and have been riding for about 4 years now. I currently own a 14 year old Hackney Pony Gelding. I have to sell him and although I am excited about getting a new horse, it will be hard to let go. Hre is a picture about 1 year ago with a younger student riding him: [img]http://[/img] Anyway, I just hope that he finds a good home! Thanks for reading!

Golly, I love Hackney ponies. whee I've always said that if I had excess money I would buy myself a Hackney horse. It's always hard moving on, but it is almost always for the best. I just hope that where ever he goes, he will be the new partner of someone who truely loves him and treats him humanely. I know some girls that can't wait to throw away their old horse and get a new one; it's good to know that there is still hope!
BTW, the picture doesn't work. sad

I had to sell my first horse after she broke my leg, and my trainer drove her nuts. No one could stay on my girl for more than 30 min after that, after I had spent a year getting her to the point where she was not insane. It broke my heart and I still miss her. I bought a new horse, who I had for 2 years, then had to sell to pay for college. I am in major horse withdrawl. I definetly understand, all I can say is keep something of your first horse, like a bridle or name plate, so you can remember.

i've never had to sell a horse....thats because i've never owned one...but still, my friend bought this chestnut station bred gelding from some auctions and he was the most brilliant little guy....he was so gorgeous then one day i got a text saying that he'd broke his leg and had to be put down....it really sucked....but now he's in horsey heaven and im sure he's eating all the carrots up there lol wink

Thnaks for understanding everyobdy, as for some of your questions...I hve to seel him because he is a little small for me now. (only just under 13.0 hh) Also, I have a bracelet with his name engraved on it. ^_^- Can you handle a pony that loves to gallop and fast trot? Well, if you can....the Hackney Pony is for you!

I'm so sorry! I agree with geogedowd, try to find a person near you to buy him, then you can visit, and comfort him if he is scared the first couple of days.

I am sorry. I know the feeling. I had to sell a horse and had to put one down. It really sticks.

I had shared ownership of a Thouroughbred mare and her foal. I was devestated when my aunt and uncle divorced and sold them without telling me.

That must be hard... I've never owned a horse, but I easily get attached to the horses I ride, so it must be hard for you...
