Well, someone I'm not particularly fond of went into my room, found my tarot deck, and proceded to use it. Needless to say, I'm pretty angry. Now, don't get me wrong, but hell, I'm one of those people who believe that you shouldn't touch others cards no matter what.
They've been sitting in my room for about a week now, but just in their box. I was wondering, does anyone know how to purify them? Maybe they've already been purified, I don't know, but I'd really like to make sure it's pure.
Thaaank you. *sigh I sound so hateful crying

I've heard somewhere either in the book included with my starter tarot deck or over the internet. That if you placed a quartz crystal on your deck (for how long, I don't remember) that the engeries of the crystal purify the any negative energies in the cards.
Although, I've only heard of it and use it whenever I attempt tarot. ^^; I'm a newbie, but I hope I helped a tinsy bit. u_u;

I burn a purification/consecration insence, and weave them through the smoke. (Personal recepie: Frankencence, Myrrh, Dragon's Blood, White Sage) The quartz crystal thing could work, seeing as quartz is a natural "suck and store" crystal. Citrine too. Just don't cleanse them wothout recharging them, itsnot so good to let them be deprived of your energy.

Hmm, how would I recharge it though?
@Lanae: Thanks, I'll definately try that.

I HATE with a passion when someone wants to start touching my things.... I think what annoyed me the most is when people touched my soul crest, keys, or this one pendant I used to have... The keys are just 300 years old and are for memory and the soul crest is fine to be touched really, but sooooo many people poked and prodded my pendant that it just sorta "leaked" what I put into it. I never bothered to fix it because my retarded dog broke into my room and somehow managed to look for JUST the pendant and chew it apart. *sighs*

Bloody!Venus Hmm, how would I recharge it though? @Lanae: Thanks, I'll definately try that. You let your energy flow back into it. Put yourself into it, or in addition leave it out in the full/new moon, whichever you feel more comfertable with. You have to replace the good energies so that it works better, you know? :3

Put your deck in order and then store it with quartz crystal/s.

Hmm.... you don't need to purify it if you ask me. I found no problem with people touching my stuff.
But than again they touch it without permission. The energies will eventually go away, don't fret over it.

I'm told that spreading you deck out on the ground and ringing a bell over them breaks up any negitive energies

Personally, I don't feel any special method is NEEDED to recharge them. Just handle them. Shuffle them, spend a li'l time gazing at the images, etc. They will naturally soak up your energy. No special ritual required.
Another thing you may want to do is blood your cards. A tiny, TINY drop of your blood on each card (on an edge where it won't be seen) will help better attune them to you, allowing them to shrug off other people's energy easier, without constant cleansing.
As for me, I don't like anyone touching ANY of my stuff, magickal or mundane, without asking. Of course, this may stem from the fact that I've had too many people take advantage of my good nature and steal from me.

How dare they? I've been taken advantage of. It's not fun.

It's funny, my Tarot deck seems to be rather open and receptive to others and their energies, yet they don't really get to contaminated. I feel lucky.

Hiya, My cards aren't too receptive to contamination because often I let others touch them and pick them up and look at the pictures and study them. About once a week though I purify them by putting the cards in order in a sort of ritualistic, meditational way. Then I sprinkle salt over them and leave them in the sun to charge for a few hours. After that they feel recharged and happy.

I'm the same way. What I like to do is seperate them all into their different categories while burning an oil, like a flower or tree oil. Then I put them back together in the Creative Order.
