So, well, everyone knows that there's something a little bit... not quite right in the head with Itachi. Some people think he's just plain crazy, some people think he's sociopathic, and others... think he's perfectly normal (those people, perhaps, are the ones not all there in the head, methinks).

So, well, I was wondering what the general concensus was on teh crazy of Itachi.

Personally, as an Itachi RolePlayer, I find him to be... a sociopath. He has many of the qualities of this disorder, as well as a little mix of dissocial personality disorder and anti-social personality disorder. In fact, I find Kishimoto to have quite the strong knowledge on different psychological disorders. It's really quite fascinating. Especially seeing as how everyone on the show is like... a giant textbook full of them.

Anyways, I was going to say that Itachi shows a lot of the characteristics of these disorders, such as: callous unconcern for the feelings of others, ncapacity to experience guilt or to profit from experience, particularly punishment, and lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another.

Honestly... I find Itachi fascinating. I find that he seems to... well... the way he treats Sasuke is amazing. You can see the sociopath in him every time he talks to him, or pays him any regard at all. It's as though he derives some sort of pleasure by forcing Sasuke to react to him (and how easy it is, as malleable as Sasuke is) in any way possible. It's as though, because Itachi lacks the capacity to feel the emotions or reactions himself, he is fascinated by the way others (especially poor, traumatized Sasuke) express them. It's as though... Sasuke, who was always that one thing, that one perfect, unblemished, untarnished, unshakeable thing in his life... is the only thing that he finds worthy of his attentions.

Naruto doesn't count- fetching him is a job :O

Anyways, I'm finished rambling, I was curious as to what everyone else thinks :3

*nodnods* He's totally... I dunno, you know how I write him ^^; I totally make him a sociopath whose reactions hinge on how he can manipulate and seriously ******** with his brother ^^; I dunno if that makes sense, but I try to write him as close to being canon IC as possible, so... that's how I see him ^^;

And yes, I did read that fic, it was totally amazing *o* All my fics with Itachi in them... have him screwing with Sasuke's mind while he, well, you know ^~

It's not actually surprised I mean, now that I think about it... they are quite similar xD; I got the idea from a conversation I had with one of my friends, but yeah, Seishirou and Itachi are similar in their treatment of Sasuke and Subaru, but, actually, I think Itaci is on a different kind of level then Seishirou, because, while Seishirou does his bet thing, Itachi just, y'know kills everyone off. Seishirou doesn't try to kill off people important to Subaru, save for Hokuto, but that's out of necessity more then want ^^;

So... I guess... there are different levels of crazy for everyone~
