Alright, so this year for the two cons I'm going to I'm going to cosplay as Blaze the Cat, from the Sonic the Hedgehog games. I'm going to go for a human appearence, since there is no way I'm going to walk around with a 'mask' over my face.

This is Blaze. Looks a bit complicated. So let's break it down into a few parts.

User Image
This would be her top, or vest. I'm not quite sure how to do this. I mean, I could buy a shirt and add some fabric to the side.. But that'd look tacky! Anyone know any sowing patterns that could be useful, or have any good ideas on now to do this?

User Image
Also attached to this vest are these... Fluffy end-sleeves. She really know how to go and flant off her cute cat side, huh? But... I'm trying to figure out how to do do that! Is there any material out there like this fluff? Suggestions? Her pants do the same thing as well..

If there is one thing I don't get, it's how to modify shoes. Do I buy a pair of shoes and paint 'em up? What do you guys do for shoes usually?

User Image
Tail I'm not so worried about. Going to put wires together and then cover it with cloth. Good idea?

User Image
And wig! As you can tell, I'm not really going to do what you see on said picture, but I was going to go for how my gaia avi's hair is... And then make the tips a bit more darker purple like her's. Anyone know how to make wig hair flail about like that though? Is there some kind of gel you use? Glue? And is it safe to dye the wig hair so it has those darker tips?

Yes, I realize this was quite long... But I thought it'd be more helpful to you guys if you knew what I really was trying to figure out. I would apperciate ANY help! I really want to make this thing with my own hands and not have to commission it. D: Thank you!

O.O I'd like to help but i'm on the assumption that you have no esperience with altering at all... it may not be true but that's how it comes off in this...

I guess you can get a boa from wherever (looks like feathers more than fur to me) like a craft store maybe... try target, kmart or walmart... and use that ... glue gun it to white gloves then stitch it still in about a dozen spots...

dunno what you'll do about shoes cept add the stoof

that jacket would look best made from scratch

The only way to break free is to break the mold...

I have sowing help from people around me, but this is the first costume like her's I've really put together. XD;

Feathers? Well, that would work better! I'll have to go look for that.

So do you really just paint over the shoes? Or what do most people do, cover it with fabric?

And I figured as much with the jacket. Le sigh! Hopefully it shouldn't be too hard to make. XD

Thank you! heart

...You can't stop now, rock and roll!

well for the shoes it really depends... I'm prolly going to be covering my shoes with cloth but that's because i have to make my black work boots into white ones... luckly they're just plain white...

Those on the other hand if you don't mind messing up some shoes that look similar to those i think it would be just fine to paint em up... not to mention not nearly as frustrating as makeing slip covers for them...
