Right now my favorite band is Nirvana and they're probably my number one favorite and best band of all time.

Love Nirvana. You can really do no wrong with the band. All Apologies is my favorite song from them.

Singur Sorrow Agreed, Nirvana blows my brains out. That wasn't remotely funny. Extremely bad taste, and shows your age - which I'm guessing to be around 10.
d**k.

Nirvana will always been a band that people will remember. Kurt Cobain falls under the catagory of tragic artists that were gone before they had come into their real potential, just like Hendrix.
Best song they did, in my opinion was Lake of Fire, followed closely by Smells like Teen Spirit.

They were my favorite band when I was about 14. (I'm 18 now) I've found more mature and obscure music to my liking now, but I don't mind listening to Nirvana every once in a while. They actually got me into a lot of the stuff I listen to now, such as The Pixies. They were one of Kurt's favorite bands.
By the way: Lake of Fire is a cover. The original was by The Meatpuppets.

Rape me was inspired by Kurt's relationship with the media. He felt like they were raping him of his privacy and humanity.

do you think that they would have been so popular if he hadn't killed himself? cuz at that time ( i remember vividly, being an old ******** as i am) pearl jam was actually hotter.. they were being hailed more.. until the suicide, when suddenly it was nirvana that started the whole thing, nirvana that was number one, etc etc...

Of Course, they're more popular because of Kurt's suicide. Tradgedy and drama are what sells (sadly) but Nirvana was hailed as more authentic by the scenesters.
