I was curious if anyone knows anything about this? Is it a sequel or prequel, a side story, what? Its on DS and its a complete different look. Everyone is like chibi! lol There apears to be no Ashe or Basch either or maybe their just not shown.

that's what I was thinking... and it wasn't just with the FF series either... I know they pissed off a lot of people with KH:CoM on gameboy while still making it a big part of the storyline. whatever... I'm not spending my money on a DS just for a few games that could most likely be easily passed over.

I haven't heard anything about it. I think it is stupid that it is just on the DS, I think they should make more ff's for psp, they are making a new tactics for psp. cause damn nintendo already got ff iii

I know how u guys feel... why did ff go to hand helds though? honestly! its a good idea but i mean mario on hand feld good. worlds best rpg on hand held good but WTF is wrong with this picture! and why are there sequils to sequils that have nothing to do with the prequils?!?! i love ff but they need to get off thier money makin horse (ffVII) and let a dead yet awsome horse lie! (i have bought the movies and games though cause well...its ff!!)

Hm, you can play most PS2 games on a PS3, just like you can play most PS1 games on a PS2, I believe.

Wow, apparently RW came out yesterday in Japan?! That's what it says on Wikipedia... It also says that it takes place a year after FFXII.

Guess we'll have to wait a little for some reviews...

There's the offical site. It's in japanese mostly, but there's enough english for those of us who don't speak it to brouse. There are trailers, characters, and that's about it that english accessable and moderately understandable. xd

I think it looks good, and can't wait for it to be released... Main characters are gonna be Vaan, Penelo, Kytes, Tomaj (YAY!), Filo, Fran (boo...) and Balthier, right?

And as for why it's on the DS, wasn't there something about it being the current most popular hand-held consule in Japan? Square's gonna go with what gives it the most marketablity. wink

There's also a RW DS that's coming out in Japan... It looks so sexy. whee

And some random s**t I've heard:

It's not a sequel in the sense of FFX-2 (gamespot quoted someone or other as saying, 'this is not FFXII-2).

It's considered an entry-level FF, and the fighting system and stuff has been revamped for newer gamers.

I'm fairly certain it takes place on the sky-continent of Lemures, where there are guys with wings.

And it takes place about... er... 1-2 years after the end of FFXII (and actually, I think it's mentioned in the end... [ Balthier's note mentions Lemures, I think... ] [ but if the end is after Bahamut or after the end end, I don't know ].
