~ ~ Warning!! ~ ~
Spoilers ahead!! (how so? has anyone here NOT read the book yet? xp ) This is something I've been meaning to ask for a while now (actually only since yesterday when I finished reading the book, but it does feel like a while to me sweatdrop )
Remember the part where Alice came back, thinking that Bella was dead?
Well, Bella recognizes Carlisle's black car across her street.
Which, obviously, means that Alice was driving it.
But, Alice also mentions that she took a plane from Denali, where she was visiting Tanya's family.
So, where did the car come from??
Could Carlisle possibly have left his car behind?
If so, why?
And where?
I really hope there's an explanation for this, I'd be much too surprised to find out that Stephenie put a detail in the book without thinking about it confused

That is sort of weird... I don't know what it could mean but it is odd that Carlisle would leave it. Maybe he just bought a new car and left the old one "in case"? Maybe Carlisle knew they'd be back there one day...?

Hmmm, I don't know, that seems a little improbable to me D:
I'm gonna have to research in the book a little more, and go back to the part where Edward leaves (I really hate that part D<), to see if he says anything about the way they all left.

Well, if they all left on the plane there's no way they could have taken EVERYTHING so maybe they left some of their things somewhere because they would eventually come back to Forks... I don't know... that's what I think...

But yeah, I'm thinking that, if they left Forks in a place, they HAD to leave their cars... it's not like they don't have enough money to buy ten more cars, if they wanted to...
~sighs~
But I don't know. My memory tells me that Edward might've mentioned something about his family leaving in the cars before him, and he stayed behind to say goodbye.
Since my memory sucks most of the time, I'll have to look for it, see if I can find any clues. 3nodding

Bella never did go in the house, so it could have been left there.
There are also many black cars in thos world. I cannot tell you how many times Ive attempted to get in the wrong car. xD Okay. 4.
It could have been new|grandtheftauto'd, knowing Alice.
I doubt Stephenie would miss a detail like that. She thinks about these things WAY too much to miss something like this.

Well, first of all Edward and the rest left really quickly, and it was a split decision so there would be no way they could sell the car in time to leave. Also, Edward also mentions in Twilight that they don't like to draw attention to themselves, and selling nice cars like that...would. I think it was much more likely that they left it behind due to those reasons (not to mention everyone except Rosalie probably thought Edward was being foolish and that they really all wanted to come back soon).

I finally asked this question in the Lexicon, and I actually got pretty good answers, and I'll post them here once the Lexicon is back up and running >.>;

the cullens move around a lot, but they usually end up going to the same places.
