Bonus points to anyone who recognises the song title. It is, of course, a song by Trivium, my latest band-that-is-completely-awesome-and-may-just-be-made-of-win. (At the moment, it's tying with Roadrunner United because Roadrunner sings my favourite song ever and their singer - in The End, anyway - just happens to be the same.)

Discuss: favourite bands, the relative merits of Trivium and/or Roadrunner United and singers with voices/looks that could be used to take over the world (or at least make people swoon with admiration).

I never got into Trivium really. I have a couple of their songs somewhere, but I can't remember what they are. Lately I've been listening to more to my new Tom Waits CD and to Helloween and Sonata Arctica. Aside from Tom Waits and power metal, I only have In Flames' newest CD with me. It's ok, but the songs are just way too short. It seems like as soon as I get into them, they end. I prefer Colony, Clayman and The Jester Race to Come Clarity.

Well, I wasn't that much into them to begin with, but after listening to a few songs (Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr, Like Light to the Flies, Dying in Your Arms and Fugue, to be precise), I was totally and completely hooked. (And it helps that their singer is the one who sings for Roadrunner in my favourite song ever, The End. ^.^)

Kind of. Roadrunner is a record label, and they got a whole lot of artists whose albums they release, put them together and made an album called The All-Star Sessions under the band name Roadrunner United (which is, if you think about it, pretty self-explanatory). There's a fair amount of variety in the material on the album, which is good but also a bit annoying because if the whole album had been like The End, I would have liked it more.
