I just bought 11 books today for about $30 total. I think that's my record.

right now I have about 16 books on order, my belated 'Christmas presents' to myself ;>.>

The most I've bought in a day was about 6 text books for about $240. Unless you count comic books, in which case it would be 24 for $35. I don't usually buy a lot of books at once. They come in slowly. However, the largest number of books I've obtained in a single day is 24. I found a collection at someone's curb and happily toted it home six books at a time.

I think five because I would have stayed in the Borders longer but my mom and I had to be somewhere and also she was paying for the books.
If you're counting manga though I've gotten eight at once because someone gave me a $50 giftcard to Barnes and Noble, then someone else gave me another giftcard for $25, and I already had some money saved

occasionally the library in my town will sell books (probably really old ones no one else wants). where you pay a dollar for a bag of books, i can't imagine how many will fit in those bags, they're big paper bags. of course usually it's me and my three sisters and my mom getting books so it's not only me.

The most books I've bought at one time was 21 books for $172. But the only reason I bought so many books was because I had mono over the summer and needed to do something while I sat on the couch. sweatdrop
Normally, though, I'll go out and buy about 6-7 books at a time...if I have enough cash, that is.

The most books I've ever bought at once was five books. I usually only get one since I'm almost always super broke.

Once I bought about thirteen books at a little out-of-the-way bookstore. In my defense, that wasn't just for me. It included Christmas presents for my friends. But I have no defense for the time the library was having a sale on used books and I bought about thirty.

On average the most I ever purchase in a single day is six books, and that is usually because I'm at a discounted store which deals in used books.
Although I remember that a few months ago I did order ten manga volumes online in a single purchase. sweatdrop

Rogue Specter a better question would probually be "what was the most you ever sent on books?" usually quantity ins't what keeps one from getting books, it's all about the cost gonk True. This is why I've fallen in love with used books. Generally they're in pretty good condition with maybe a creased spine or a name written inside the front cover, but other than that. I love my thick hardcover of The Three Musketeers that cost me a mere $6. It's only imperfection is a smudge of what appears to be white paint on the front cover. Mine, mine, mine!

6 at my jr. high's used book sale, a buck each.
You could get community service hours (I went to a Catholic school) if you donated used books. Somebody bought new books to donate, just so they could get the hours. I got my hands on some new books, a buck each. KA-CHING!
