The Most Beautiful Girl In The World

Her name was Cassandra, which is greek which means “drives men wild” and of course she did, though not many guys would admit it. She moved here from England and, considering I lived my whole life inbetween podunk and buttfunk Louisiana, she was almost exotic with her thick Glasgouh accent. I really first noticed her not because she was new or talked funny, but for her big(and I mean BIG) mossy green eyes that everyone couldn’t help but notice. I had her in my english class sophomore year and with stalker-like unflinching stares would just drown myself in them, then trickle over her freckled nose into her berry lip gloss. And might I say, she had really good taste in lip gloss. Really good lips too.

We never really talked, though I had a locker three down from hers that she shared with a friend during Sophmore and junior year. But I could tell she loved music, especially older bands like Pink Floyd. And her favorite flowers were roses. She liked White the best. I guess it just goes to show how obsessive I really was about this one girl who barely recognised my existance except for when my best friend decided to pants me during gym class while we ran the mile. Needless to say, that left an unwanted impression on her. But I guess it’s better than me being some freaky stalker who wrote poetry about her for hours(which I did regularly until my little brother found it.).

So here I was, this gawky, skinny, and girly-looking guy, chasing after this long-haired, full-hipped, perfect amazon of a woman, and to be perfectly honest I felt like the sorriest little peice of s**t that ever walked the face of the earth, but at least I got to feel hopeful. At least I could have my wishes and dreams that every time I drooled on my desk just looking at those eyes that she’d be into me at least a little. I’m also thankful for not leering at her like some guys did. They’d either mouth off about her being fat or they’d claim how they’d like to “hit that s**t up”. I despised every one of those assholes for just looking at her and that eventually led to me punching one of them, but he kicked the s**t out of me anyways so it’s not like it mattered.

She was just so unexpectedly amazing. Her thick, mouse-brown hair that she always wore down so it hung over her waist, her freckles and dimples that never moved, those facinating earrings she wore that looked like zippers but weren’t. But the least expected perfection of all was just her. While every other girl in school looked like you could snap her like a twig, she was real. Human. Everything wrought with such beautiful detail, just on a larger scale. I think I fell for her just on that. She was unique, and it was fabulous.

I had always played clarinet and eventually she joined the school’s miniscule chior that sounded like a group of jug band singers from hell(except her of course, because this amazing beauty just had to kill me complettly and be talented too). It was finally my Senior year when the band collaborated with the choir for a huge concert after graduation. I got to see her every day for at least five hours after class for a month and it seriously rocked. I was depressed beyond recovery once the week of the performance rolled around.

After the show, the strangest thing happened. She talked to me. No joke. After three solid years of barely a hello, it was
“Hey Alan, wait up!”
God had felt the need to make my heart stop for a full minute. We started to talk about the concert and graduating and that she thought I was really good in my clarinet solo. We both had long waits for our rides so we kept talking. and then we ended up making out near the back of the parking lot.

After ten minutes of this, I realized two things. One; I was the luckiest guy on the face of the earth. Two; I had just taken that spot from another guy, the biggest jackass in all the land, the guy who owned the face that I broke my knucles on whose knuckles then broke my jaw. He drove up in his nice car, he beat me to a pulp again, she tried to stop him, he started to hit her, so I pulled out my clarinet case and knocked him unconcious. I nevder knew clarinets could dish out so much force.

My parents gave her a lift and she gave me her phone number, which I immediatly programmed onto speeddial when I got home. Her lip was kinda bloody from when he slapped her, but mom had the sense not to be intrusive this time. We ended up going to college together, and I gave her all those poems I wrote which I was immediatly rewarded for with more making out. Maybe I was just stalker-y enough for it to be cute. Anyways, that is the great epic in which I, through the strangest means, won the affections of the most beautiful girl in the world.
