I was very happy to see that Andrew Lloyd Webber was one of the five people being honored at the Kennedy Center Honors. I was even more excited when I saw Sarah Brightman announcing him.
But what I was NOT excited about in the least, was Josh Groban singing MotN. I have to say, I laughed through his whole performance. He would make a good Raoul, but Erik? Never. He can't be mysterious. It just doesn't look right when he's singing about darkness and night with the most angelic look on his face possible.
I was glad that they had Sarah Brightman sing something, but the one she sang, Memories from Cats, would not have been my pick. I think, for old time's sake, she should have done something from PotO, anything.
These are just my opinions, feel free to post your own.

Groban was an A.I. I hate that show to death.
Really, I don't follow Webber. I like his musicals, but I'll be damned if I like the man.

He was on some show that my parents watch, and they don't watch American Idol (niether do I, for that matter). I think it was Ally McBeal or something. I think he has a great voice. But the look is a big part of it, too.

Josh Groban was never on American Idol. neutral You must be thinking of someone else, Uta. Groban's quite good, actually. He used to tour with Sarah Brightman, and he's understudied Andrea Bocelli... I would definitely see him as more of a Raoul than an Erik, though.

He used to tour with Sarah Brightman, and he's understudied Andrea Bocelli... I would definitely see him as more of a Raoul than an Erik, though. I always get that mixed up with that other fool off AI, Aken I think. They sound the same to me anyway.

i adore Josh Groban. He has the voice of an angel. So he would have made a better raoul, who cares. He sang MOTO great.
For the love of god. He was NOT on american idol. That show sucks.

His voice does not appeal to me.
Nor do his physical features.
What women see in him, I'll never know.

I like Josh Groban's voice. It's deep and *swoons*...yep. The face? Not so much. I wish I heard him sing it. He was not in American Idol. He was probably mistaken for Clay Aiken.
