Well, looking through other groups I'm a member of, I thought this topic seemed a bit over-due.

I know in the past I had the most aweful time finding clothes, but I've apparently gotten better at it. Or else maybe more stores are making halfway decent plus size clothing. When I was in highschool, and a lot now just 'cause I'm poor, I wore T-shirts I got from various events and jeans.

Anyways, where do you get your clothes? Do you typically find great deals on them, and do you reccomend any certain stores or specific brands? Are there any stores that you absolutely hate because they never have anything?

Some of my favorites are:
heart Goody's- They have the "extra cool juniors" section, and although I hate the way they patronize fat girls, it's the only place I tend to get my jeans anymore, the only brand I hate that they sell is Zani D. I also find really cute hoodies there, and some tops, occassionally. And I've also found some stuff in the regular junior's section, although it can be argued I wear my clothing tight. (I've since discovered not everywhere has these, I can most easily compare them to a Kohl's... which I've only been in once in Missouri, although I'm interested in shopping at again when I find the local one)
heart Lane Bryant-I buy almost all my underwear, especially bras, from Lane Bryant. I've also gotten my skirts there, and occassionally a top. They have a lot of cute stuff, it's just finding good deals, as they're kinda expensive.
heart Hot Topic- I mostly get hoodies and T-shirts from there. Occassionally I've made a wicked-awesome find in the girl's section...but I rarely look there anyway, they're mighty expensive.
heart Old Navy: I haven't shopped there in awhile, but I tend to find some pretty good stuff, I used to get my jeans there, and I like their tops.
heart Forver 21- You have to look pretty closely to find something, and you can't be much bigger than me (probably any bigger, as like I said, I wear my clothes tight) but they have some absolutely adorable tops I can wear... Not the cheapest place around, but not super-expensive to buy from occassionally.

I was about to write Goody's off, 'til my friend told me they had a sale and I walked out saving $52, I still spent $100... the sad part is I had been there two days prior and decided I wouldn't find any jeans there, and I left with two pairs. She's taught me to try on stuff weather or not I think it'll look good on me, as long as I like it and maybe even if I don't, or if I think it's one of those things I'll be embarassed to wear.

Anybody else have any places they absolutely love to shop? Or any sweet places online?

And, so you people can write off my suggestions because you think I'm tacky, tacky, tacky, here's a photo of me in an outfit I enjoy:

I try to find a decent pair of jeans that will fit me good, but no matter where I go...Torried, hottopic, oldnavy, dept. stores...they don't fit my shape good. Always too tight around the waist and too big in the thighs!

I live by additional Elle, old navy and torrid. Torrid is my speical store in the states, I love it so very much! All my jeans are from either old navy or additional elle. They are expensive, but they make me feel good and fit very well, and show off my semi-flat bum smile

My problem is my tummy is fat and my hips are a bit wide but not HUGE, and my tighs and legs are thinner...so when I need to get a big size to fit me around the middle, i get these huge looking jeans on me ;( And the size that looks good on my legs is too tight to button! ;_; I dunno what to do anymore!

Jeans are always the biggest problem for me. If I find a pair that fit in the hips and thighs, then the waist is too big and majorly gaps in the back. I'll be trying Lane Bryant soon, though, as my mom gave me a pair of her jeans from there in hopes they'd fit, and they are fantastic.

Honestly, I tend to do quite a bit of shopping at goodwill stores. Miraculous discoveries can be made there.

If not, Fashion Bug is a common one for me.

I always used to shop on ebay for my big clothes (all new nothing second hand).

For band hoodies and the like I usually had to order from America. I have broad sholders so I have to buy one size bigger than usual. Not as easy when you are size XXXL.

My absolute favorite place is Kohls. I get all my jeans there, or Torrid.

One thing that I dislike about Kohls, is I can't fit in any of their tops, jeans, I can fit into their largest junior size(17).

For shirts, I either go to Torrid, Walmart, or Hot Topic.

The only problem I have with pants from Torrid, is they don't carry a lot of Longs. I have long lets and after I wash the pants, they're up at my ankles. Kohls has long pants. I <3 it. I also have the problem of Walmart's pants being too short, or not fitting right.

I have a HUGE problem finding tops. For the size I am, I have a large bust. It doesn't work too well in tops that fit everywhere, but squish me. I also have problems in jeans, if I can't find my size in juniors, in women's and some misses, they're too baggy on my knees.

JC Penny has a fairly good big & tall section in their catalogs. Kinda annoyed by the limited sizes in stores so lately I've been shopping on their website.

I shop pretty much anywhere. I haven't found anywhere that I can consistently find good stuff, so I'm always looking. I get my jeans at Kohl's usually, and my shirts at like goodwill or dig n save. I'm low maintenance. 3nodding

Wow, I haven't posted here for quite some time. As for me, it's alot of Lane Bryant. I also shop at Avenue, Torrid, Fashion Bug,Catherines and Ashley Stewart. I'm pretty lucky off here in Memphis that there are a lot of large ethnic ladies. So big booty jeans aren't too hard to find XD

Ocassionally Walmart has something I like or Target. Goodys would be nice if there were a store here and Sears and Hot Topic are ok. I get alot of t-shirts on sale at Hot Topic.

Online I look at Roamans, Ulla Popken, Just My Size, Size Appeal, Silhouettes, and Drac in a Box

There are also books if you sew that help to size up patterns which I'm looking into since I'm learning to sew.

Usually Wal-Mart when I'm feeling cheap (read: all the time), or teh Hot Topic, since I get a killer employee discount. @.@

I usually get my clothes from Yonkers, JCPenney, or Wal-Mart. Once and a while I can get a shirt from Now-And-Then, but they don't often have my size. ^^;

I'll splurge and spend like,

then mourn over my lost collage fund.
