I think they should have because Vincent wanted to kill Sephiroth because of Luceille's mother's death at the hands ofSephiroth.

Why would Vincent care? lol on topic: I think the MAIN reason Vincent didn't try is because, first off he's smart and knows that even now (with his powers and such) he still isn't a match for Sephy. That, and i think Vincent just stopped caring what happened in the past.

I agree with Dante; Vincent knew he wouldn't be able to defeat Sephiroth.
It's sad though...that he was in such inner turmoil over Lucielle's death...he totally blamed himself.

As cool as that may sound... and as wierd as this may sound.... there would really be no place in the game for them to put it. Vincent didn't really have any direct beef with Sephiroth. Vincent had Hojo to concern over... Sephiroth was more Cloud nemisis.

Anyways, Luccy is Sephy's MOTHER. She ran away after giving birth to Sephy and turned herself into a stupid human diamond thing.
Vincent is more concerned over fighting HOJO and NOT Sephiroth. And there were some rumours going about that Sephy might had even been his SON.
It's all crazy and crap. Who knows. But I'm sure he didnt' really want to fight Sephy, just Hojo. After that... He didn't have much reason to live except repenting sins so he probably though "Hey, why the hell not?" and went with AVALANCHE and Yuffie, Nanaki, Cait Sith and Cid.

I dont think t would have made much sense, since Vincent was only an optional character in the game. And yeah, his problem was more with Hojo than Seph.

Yeaaah, I don't think it would have made much sense either. Besides which, Sephiroth would either kill Vincent(which would suck, TWO holes in your party!) or Vincent would kill Sephiroth and there'd be no point to the end of the game, Cloud would never "settle up" with him, Jenova wouldn't be defeated, blah blah blah.
