Nothing sucks more then losing the saved file or memory to your favorite games, especially Harvest Moon, right? Share your stories of lost games and data! ;_;!
Mine: I lost both my More Friends of Mineral Town and Magical Melody files. FMoMT was lost awhile ago for unknown reasons but I just lsot my MM data today by accidently saving over it with a new file I'm using to help myself create a guide. I was in Year 2, all the way at the end!

I had been playing AWL when I first got it, and I had gotten to the second year after a grueling first year spent wooing Nami over with what I could, and constant trying to get into her room so I could check her diary.
A year into Part 2, I decided to go ahead and save and rest at the end of my day. So, the loading bar sat there and filled saying "DO NOT TURN OF THE POWER OR REMOVE THE MEMORY CARD." and my little brother walks through the room, and tripped over the power cord, jerking it out of the back of the gamecube.

Ouch. >_<; Power cords are definatly evil. My dog likes to trip over them / eat them / chew on them.

Uh, once i was playing a game, and i just layed my DS on my bed and went into the kitchen, i came back and my huge fat cat was standing on my DS and had turned it off! I hadnt saved it and i did like alot, i saw some heart events, made the girl i want really like me, did lots of harvesting, my cow won the festival thing and i was like OMG!!!!!

Had a file in Year 3 on MFoMT. I had married Cliff, and had just had my daughter. Then I didn't feel like playing for a while because I got my DS. So my older sister wanted to play, and I loaned it to her. Then, right before HMDS came out, I asked to get it back. Turned it on to play, and my sister, apparently, accidentally saved over my file with hers. crying
Another time, with FoMT, I was trying to connect the game to AWL, and as I was turning on the game, the screen went white. I reset and tried again, and my file (which had been in Year 3, married to Karen) was gone! crying crying
One more incident didn't happen to me but was my fault. When I first got BtN, my siblings and I fought over it (even though it was my game stressed ). We eventually had to limit the game to a 1 hour of gameplay time limit (which totals out to 2, maybe 3 days of play with all the loading times x.x; ). We had saved most of our files on the same memory card. Well....on one such occasion that it was my turn, I was playing along, having a good time. My younger brother came up and said it was his turn and demanded I get off. So, I went to save, and in my rush, I accidentally saved over his file. sweatdrop I don't think he ever picked it up and played again after that. sweatdrop

Ah, I forgot to mention one that really made me upset.
I had a file on GBC 2 and was almost to the end of Year 3 (in Winter, to be precise). Then, my game cartridge went missing. I finally found it I wanna say a year later. gonk When I found it, I was so happy, and I took it and popped it in my GBA to play it. Loaded it up, and my file was gone. gonk But that's not the worst of it. I started a new file, played through about a week, saved, and turned it off. Picked it up later, and the file was gone. Apparently, the saving battery in the game cartridge died, so now it doesn't save any more. crying

Oh my!
Well, I was playing HM DS, and I was going along, when I flipped my game on and tried to load, and the words went glitchy. I kind of tweaked and tried loading again: I loaded the other file, but not that one, and the other file was like, first 2 weeks into the game, while the one I had was two seasons in-- the one that glitched-- and I hadn't realized what a glitchy game HM was until it started freezing ALL the time. I was worried something was wrong with my DS until I came to The HMDSFG thread.

My first (and best) file on HM: MM was deleted by my sister, then she saved it over with hers. -.-
Now, I can't remember which is mine, or hers. T.T She did this over Summer, I've forgiven her. (Thankfully ><)

I cried about this in the public forums: I was playing MM, end of fall, year 2. I had gotten a little boared with having accomplished almost everything (4  + Jaimie's left) So I was alternating between a the old game (female farmer), and a new one (male). And, in a stupor because I was quitting to wake myself up, I saved over my girl game. crying

I'll post this one for my sister, because really, it's all my fault. gonk
My sister mewpunchiko was over at my apartment yesterday, and she was showing me her Harvest Moon DS file. She's getting it for Christmas, but one of her friends let her borrow their copy and have a file on it. She was in Winter of Year 1, had Flora up to almost an Orange Heart, I think, and had a bunch of stuff on her farm. Then she was telling me about her friend's file, which was in Year 2 and didn't even have Nami up to a Purple Heart, and she was telling me about all her money, high scores, etc., and then, because I was distracting her with conversation, she absentmindedly went to the save screen and, out of habit, saved over the 2nd file. Her file. As in, she saved her friend's file over her own. gonk ! I felt so bad when she realized what she had done. crying redface sweatdrop

Game Lost: Friends Of Mineral Town
Where: At some stupid summer camp
Story:
So I had to go to this stupid summer camp one summer. I hated it. I brought my DS and my Friends Of Mineral Town with me to play if ever I got bored. I played all the time and every so often some other kid would ask to play it. Of course I had other games so if they had their own DS/SP/Advance I let them play it on theirs. This one kid who used it right after I saved and handed it to him walked outside of my character's home and hit my dog with a hammer. I screeched and took it away from him I restarted the game from save point. He had told me he thought it was a rabbit you're supposed to hunt and eat. That bit was just funny so I had to put it in. >.< Back to the real story. So I was having lots of fun at this camp save the fact I got depressed every other day. And when I got depressed I sat in the corner and played Harvest Moon. One day I played some other game becasue I felt like it. I thought I had put it in my back pack but obviously not because when I got home my game wasn't in my bag nor in my DS. On my game my character was how you say... Successful. And I worked for the near one hundred thousand he had and the big house and such and such. I did not use one cheat - ever. So. That's my story. Tah - Dah.

Okay, I had two files for FoMT, my second one was the current one I was working on and I had just got Ann to an orange heart. I got excited and thought it looked red, so, just to confirm, I went on to my first account to see what shade the red heart was. Of course, being save-happy like me, I accidentally saved over my second file. DDDX Ergh!

Its was my sister's fault, but really she was exhausted, so I had to forgive her. (Even, though I saved over hers tons of time by accident.) Well, my sister was playing her game and when she went to save the game, she saved over mine! I was, like, in year 2 and I was in Winter 10 no less!! crying

My memory card broke and I lost MM, AWL, and WL and about 15 other games. Also, once I played BTN for 8 hours straight and I forgot to save stressed and the power went out for 2 minutes 8 hours for 2 minutes of darkness.
