yeah theres too many ill effects to legalize it especially with how much it will be abused if it is legalized.

I think that IF they legalize it, (and they won't, the gov't can't stop you from growing your own, no tax $ there!) they should impose the same laws for drinking. 21+, get dui charges, etc.

There has to be some bad stuff in it.

I watched my brother, who's now 21, start smoking it here and there when he was 14. Our mamma (I'm southern, shut up!) kind of had that "Well, at least he's at home and not out causing trouble" attitude. 7 years later, and he's smoking ice on a daily basis, has bipolar type whatever, (the worst kind) and has basically made all kinds of bad life decisions. His gf got pregnant, told him it was some other guy's, and said if you still love me you'll marry me. He did. She got an abortion. Oh yeah, she's schizophrenic. She is now 11 weeks pregnant w/ his baby. They are a VERY disturbed couple.

Anyways, the doctors who he went to said that the pot brought out the bi-polar. It was always there, but that just helped it along and made it worse.

My uncle is schizophrenic, manic depressive, and a whole host of other things. He started with pot, escalated to cocaine, crack, and now pills and alcohol. The doctors said the same thing for him.


NOW....
My mamma has been smoking it since she was 16, and only does so when she can't sleep or is really upset about something. And lately, she's even quit doing it then. She is a normal, healthy (physicaly and mentaly) woman. She says that after she smokes it, she gets giddy like most people, but then she gets really depressed. Most people I know say the same thing.

And btw, I'm allergic to it. Everyone laughs at me, but I am.

I don't think they should legalize it, personally. It makes people stupid. If they did, though, we'd have a much smaller prison population. So I'm torn.
