I have asked this question the Christian and Satanist guilds. The Satanist guild (surprisingly) was much more understanding. What do devout Jews such as yourself think of my religion: Wicca? I worship nature gods and goddesses, celebrate solstices and equinoxes, dance naked under full moon (the nudity is optional) and am celebrating Hallowe'en by lighting candles and incense and chanting a soft mantra. (And yes, I cast spells). THe Jesus Freaks guild seems to think that all practitioners of witchcraft are Satanists. We are not. There is no devil in the Craft: in fact, most Wiccans don't even acknowledge his existence. So what do you th ink of my fatih?

I'm pretty neutral to Wicca, I guess. I actually have more respect for it than for Christianity and Islam, in fact, because Wiccans neither copied nor (as far as I know confused ) have ever persecuted Jews.
As for the worshipping nature g-ds and dancing naked in the moon thing... to each his own, eh? I don't really mind as long as you're not required to kill/harm people or something, and I know you're not, so it's fine razz

Hey, if you take it seriously, unlike most kids I know who claim to be "Pagans" or "Wiccans", you knock yourself out.
I actually think I will start dancing naked under the full moon, just because it sounds exisilerating. whee

Well, seeing how jews beleive in the one and only G-d, I wouldn't find too much in common with your religion. I don't frown upon it either... So... I guess I'm neutral 3nodding .

kingpinsqeezels Hey, if you take it seriously, unlike most kids I know who claim to be "Pagans" or "Wiccans", you knock yourself out. Im the same way. If you believe in Wicca for the actual reason of believing in Wicca, thats fine and I have nothing bad towards you. But if you believe in Wicca to be cool, rebellious, or any other stupid reason that teens and young people choose to believe in it, then I have no respect for you whatsoever xp

And just for the sake of the fact that I'm an antagonistic twit. Please state your Coven and Lineage. And if you don't even know what I'm asking for, please go jump off a bridge, preferably one over a dry riverbed.

I hate when people try to force Christianity because, for some reason, they think I'm unholy because I'm not affiliated with a church. People then wonder why I say I don't condone Christianity. whee

My sista is pegan and gay, we are really close. I think pegan, wicca ect ect is perfectly fine. I attempted to take it up as my choice faith, but it didnt' work out for me. I tried it for almost a year, but we just didn't click. I respect the religions and ideas completely though. ^.^
::happy dance::
ALL THOUGH I do think that wicca's name is being pulled around a bit, cause there are all these girls at my school whom say they are wicca but they just are doing that cuase they wanna be emo and special. rolleyes

For all those who don't know much about Wicca:
THE WICCAN REDE, or REDE OF THE WICCAE.
Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust. Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.
For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out. To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.
Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much. Honor the Old Ones in deed and name, let love and light be our guides again.
Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune. Widdershins go when the moon doth wane, and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.
When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two. When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart's desire seek.
Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail. When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.
When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth. When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.
Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow. Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.
Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God's insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.
Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland. Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.
Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning. White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.
Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine. Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.
Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be. Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.
As the old year starts to wane, the new begins, it's now Samhain. When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.
When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn. As the wheel turns to Lammas night, power is brought to magick rite.
Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all. When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.
In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way. When the Sun has reached it's height time for Oak and Holly to fight.
Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall. Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you'll be.
Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you'll know. When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.
With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend. Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good. When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.
Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.
These Eight words the Rede fulfill:
"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
As you can see, the most important law of Wicca is to harm none. This is the oldest, the most sacred law of all, and the only one that is not open to interpretation or change. And the people who say they're Wiccans but got their faith from that idiotic show Charmed or that rather more accurate series of books, Circle of Three, most real Wiccans call them "fluffy Wiccans" or "Blessed-wanna-be". That's actually pretty good, a play on the word "wannabe" and the Wiccan blessing "blessed be". *giggles*

I was always told, even by my actual Wiccan friend, not a fluff, that Wicca, as a whole, is a fairly modern incarnation of various older witch cults that existed in pre-christian europe but were extinguished when the roman and then other christian juggernaughts rolled on through. ninja
