STORY This comes straight from Ushi no Tane x 6. 3nodding Your deceased mother sent a wish to the Harvest Lord, asking his help to guide you to be a success on your farm. The Harvest Goddess is sent to your house in the middle of the night but while watching you sleep she decides that you do not have the motivation to fulfill your mother's dream. An argument ensues between the two Harvest leaders and the Goddess is punished for calling the Harvest Lord "bald-headed". The Sprites repeat the name calling after their leader is banished away, which results in them also sharing her fate. Now you have to find the Goddess and her Sprites and also be a success on your farm.

BEST FRIEND SYSTEM New to the Harvest Moon scene in this title is the controvertial best friend system. It only works with one of the 4 special girls (Harvest Goddess, Witch Princess, Leia, and Keria), and if you decide to befriend them, you CANNOT have a husband later. Here's the scoop from Ushi no Tane x 6. ^_^ Ushi no Tane x 6 The BF system allows you to have a Best Friend instead of a husband. One of the special girls from the boy version can become your own closest friend. A Best Friend will even give you a gift on your Birthday! Who wouldn't want more birthday presents? If you want a Best Friend you won't be able to choose to have a male husband later. To acquire a Best Friend you have to go through the Heart Events for either Keria, Leia, Goddess, or the Witch. When you talk to a girl while having the Love Ring equipped you can see how far along you are with her Love Points. Only the 4 special girls have their Love Points available for view, leftover from the boy version. After you trigger the Yellow Heart Event, you have to give your chosen Best Friend the Blue Feather that you'll need to get married. The two of you will then have a Friend Ceramony down on the Beach, just like if you had proposed to a guy. Before you can choose a Best Friend you have to complete the standard marriage requirements of finding 60 Sprites, owning the Big Bed, and triggering all 4 heart events. You also can have a child gifted to you if you are connected to a BF instead of a normal husband. The Harvest Lord will deliver you a random-graphic child when the time is right. REMOVED FROM ENGLISH VERSION
That's right. It was cut from the English version.
You can still see their LP, Heart Events, and even woo them,

So long as it just comes here, I don't care what they cut. So long as it's not something important like, oh, I don't know: --The mailbox in HMDS. That was supposed to be one of the cooler features of linking. It was one of the first things I read about when HMDS had only just been announced. --The text on the DVDs. --Most of the DVD collection in general. --Buckwheat Flour --The game's ability to count animal deaths so you can marry the Witch --Several other key things that they cut out of the English version that I'm too lazy to think of right now. stressed
