The beauty of the donation item is if you like the item, hurray! It's yours. If you don't, hurray! You can sell it, skip collecting underwear, and still profit!

i've never actually sent in a donation to get the donation items...i just find 'em in the market place.

I think the newer donation collectible items are getting better (not in creativity sense but in the posture that each gives us). A whole lot more various looks are better than limited looks.
Yes I like donation items, I bought mine from marketplace too.

Donation items are cool
And liek the others above me i've never donated i'vejust bought them in the marketplace.
Though i didn't really like the July items....they seemed kinda dumb to me. i'm really surprised at how quickly the items were below 10k though usually it takes a month or two for them to get that low
