The last game in the GBC series, and it went out with a bang. GBC 3 took a whole different approach to the series. Instead of your living in a town, you live on an island, and which gender you pick affects which part of the story you play. (See Story section for more info.) Marriage was introduced for the first time in the portable games, but with major differences in between genders. If you played as a boy, you can keep playing after you get married and go on to have 2 children. Playing as a girl, however, provided a major drawback: once you get married, the game ends. gonk Still, it did add lots of litle neat things (including a super-fun snowboarding mini-game) and is considered by many to be the best in the GBC series.

So, discuss, eat drink, get married, and have fun! ^_^ And download the ROM here wink

STORY

Which gender you choose in the game affects the story. 3nodding

GIRL'S STORY
If you play as a girl, you live on your father's farm and want to restore it but need some help. The game opens with a flashback of you as a small girl. You run ahead, and your dad, Harry, warns you not to run. You trip and fall flat on your face, and your dad (who looks just like the boy farmer) comes and helps you up and carries you home. Flashforward to the present, and the mayor is speaking with some execs about selling the farm. You then rush in and object. You say you want to run the farm, and they say it might be too difficult for you to do so on your own (sexist! xd ). Enter Mr. Heinz, the mayor of Flowerbud Village (the Village from GBC 2). He says that Jack from their village's farm has agreed to come help you. Flash ahead to Jack and Jill meeting at what appears to be a train station. The two meet, exchange greetings, and then head off toward the farm, where you pick up on Day 1 (as opposed to Day 2, like most of the other games 3nodding ).

Once you build up yours and Jack's relationship, he will ask you to meet him at the cliff before midnight. Meet him there, and he will propose to you. After a week, the two of you get married, and the game ends, saying that you never really fulfilled your father's dream, but you, he, and your new baby are happy, and that's what's important. heart .....That's such an unfair ending.... gonk

BOY'S STORY
If you play as a boy, it makes this game feel like a sequel to GBC 2. You pick up as the boy farmer from that game, and it says that you've successfully restored the farm and are now looking for something to do with your life. Mr. Heinz, the mayor, comes to visit you and explains the situation on the island. You then have a choice of whether or not you want to go help her. If you pick "Yes," then Heinz will leave to go tell them the news, and you will pick up with the same meeting scene, except this time Jill will talk instead of Jack. However, if you say, "No," you will be prompted again to help. If you refuse a second time, he will then more eagerly prompt you. Refuse a third time, he'll say he understands, ask when did you become so mean, and then walk off. You then see a black screen with the following text: "Soon after that, the farm on the island closed down...Harvest Moon 3 The End." rofl !! You can only see this ending if you play as a guy.

Anyway, if you say yes and take on the task of reviving the farm like you're supposed to, you can then work toward building up Jill's friendship. Once you do, you can eventually get married and keep playing. The two of you can have up to 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl, but they both look the same. ( xd ) The game let's you play endlessly, just like any other HM game, but only if you play as a boy. gonk

Getting the boat is complicated. sweatdrop

First, you need to get the Fishing Rod from Billy. Give him tons of crops, eggs, and/or berries every day until one day he says he has to fix his boat and asks to borrow your hammer. Loan it to him. The next time you talk to him, he'll give you back your hammer and give you the Fishing Rod.

Next, to get the boat. Continue to make friends with Billy and also with Elza. About a season or so after you received the Fishing Rod, Billy will thank you again for loaning him your hammer, and to thank you, he and Elza decided to give you their old boat! ^__^
