I know this is a guild for those of us who are 'larger' beings and are proud of it....i am sorry to say, but i am NOT proud of it.

It makes me so sad. I am alone, because of it. No love, nothing. Judged constantly. I hate it. I want to lose the weight so badly and yet i always have such a hard time trying. I can never stick to a diet, my cravings get so bad that i swear it feels like im on some twisted drug.

I'm tired of being this way. I want to be thin, pretty and loved. I need help, please...

I just want...I want out, i want to be healthy, skinny and happy. crying crying

Advice?
Tips?

ANYTHING!

I understand. My life is like that, alot. If you are really commited to losing weight, which I have always had trouble with, remember a few things. Drink lots of water, and include yogurt or cottage cheese in your diet. Do NOT try starving yourself, it doesn't do much other than hurt you. You need a healthy, balanced diet. Instead of three larger meals, eat smaller portions, about six times a day. You'll burn it off alot better that way. You can still have sweets, just don't eat a lot of them. One little canybar, or something like that, is fine. Avoid a large amount of grease, and soda, and exercise regularly. Don't try doing it all at once, because you'll only hurt yourself that way, but go for walks, jogs, do aerobics, skate, ride a bike, and do things like this two or three times a day. My mom also swears by green tea, since it's supposed to help, too. You won't get results right away, but you will see a change. Don't be discouraged if your actual weight goes up, though. Muscle weighs more than fat does. I hope this helps. I've actually lost several inches from my waist, but my weight went up. I got discouraged, until someone pointed that out. biggrin

I'm not proud of the fact I'm fat, pudgey, over-weight, pleasantly plump, zaftig or anything else like that. I still get disappointed in myself because of my weight, the other day I was complaining at my boyfriend that he's gross for finding me attractive I'm so fat. But most of the time I realize, being skinny doesn't make somebody pretty. Being fat doesn't make somebody ugly.

I'm proud to be relatively healthy, I'm just as healthy as most of my skinny friends. Moreso than some. That's what I worry about, being healthy... and maybe not gaining anymore weight sweatdrop

But I could give you the list of rules to lose weight, I've never been able to stick to them because it was more out of self-loathing than doing it for myself that I knew them. Or because my family always talked about the latest diets at Thanksgiving and Christmas and praised me when I'd barely eat.

Yes, drink water... and I've heard green tea cleans out your system, I don't know how well it works at losing weight... but my grandmother loves the stuff for that, and my boyfriend just loves it in general. I hate it, it's so gross... I'll never be able to drink it. Just try to get thirty minutes of physical activity a day, eat more frequent, smaller meals. Don't eat just because you're bored, don't drink sodas, have smaller portions of the food you like so you don't feel as though you're depriving yourself. My cousin lost a ton of weight when she had her swimming pool built, she swims everyday (she's rich, and not everybody has that option... sweatdrop )

But remember, you should worry about your health, your waist size or what a scale says doesn't determine if you're pretty or not... and if it does to somebody, does their opinion really matter? It won't make you loved, you make you loved... I'm blessed with a boyfriend who loves me very much, and quite a few fanboys and friends, and it's because of my personality (and maybe my looks a bit)... In The Great Gatsby one of the things that struck me the most was that the two main female characters are a skinny rich girl, and a poor fat girl.... And the skinny girl's husband cheats with the fat girl because it's her attitude, she knows she's sexy.

Happiness isn't and shouldn't be about your waist size, but good luck with losing weight ^_^

Yes, the main point is not how everyone else is happy with the way you look. It's that YOU are happy. *hugs* heart

I know exactly how you feel, I swear im the same way.....I do have a loving BF that loves me for who I am....but theres the times that he does say things without thinking about them first, LIKE *man, if you were lighter you could sit on my lap* things like that really hurt, I know he doesnt mean them harshly like that, but it still gets me thinking.

then theres the times that I go clothing shoping and see all the cute stuff in the juniors section that I will never fit in unless I drop 50 pounds...

I too have tried diets and failed badly...its just so hard because healthy food doesnt taste good too me...my sisters are both vegitarian, and they love it...but I try their stuff and feel like puking!

but anyways, I know im pretty healthy so I do go through times where im happy with myself, and you could always tell yourself that things could be worse...you could be double your size!

I know exactly how you feel. And I do mean exactly. I've been feeling that way a lot lately. Being in college is hard. I can eat pizza every day. It's really bad. I need to start exercising, and I know that. And I have decided that I am getting just fed up enough that I am going to.

I wish I had a boyfriend or someone that thought I was pretty just how I am. But I don't. And I think my weight is part of that. So I'm going to get happy with who I am and make some minor modifications... We'll see how it goes.

Good luck on your weight loss, dear!! biggrin

Holy crap, has it even been a week? sweatdrop

A thing I forgot to mention, most experts suggest only losing one to two pounds a week, as that's healthy. Especially if you intend to keep it off (not saying your progress so far is bad, congrats!). Also, don't get discouraged when you plateau, if you keep up what you're doing (and I for one offer to be one of your cheerleaders!) then you'll start losing again.

I had a friend going into the military who had to lose quite a bit of weight, she weighed herself in the morning before she ate. The day she had to go in for weighing she couldn't eat because she was afraid she'd gain too much and not get accepted xp

Also, I've been told and honestly believe to measure rather than worry about what the scale says. That's where you really see results, especially as muscle and fat weigh differently, so even if you're gaining weight, it's not necessarly fat.

Keep up the good work ^_^

I've lost about 70 lbs by eating about 1500 calories a day. Once a week I will have a "cheat meal" at the end of the day. I walk alot and drink lots of water. Take a multivitamin and drink diet soda and green tea (they have zero calories) Vegetables are important. I eat 3 cups of mixed frozen veggies for dinner.

I wasn't happy at my biggest, but now I am slowly liking myself even though I am still overweight. I know this post was old but I thought I'd try to help.
