Even in the 2000's, the stereotype for women is still around. Wearing some kind of dress or an outfit with a skirt, high heels, all that. But when it comes to things like driving, men are shown more often in commercials. In cooking, women are shown more often than men -- actually, in almost anything regarding the household, it's always the woman, never the man.
... Okay, there's that Klondike Bar commercial with the husband actually putting a dish away, but that's not the point. Are the feminazis here in America actually right about what they preach about?
Well, yes and no. It's true that even in the Land of the Free women still have it bad. Low paychecks comp[ared to a man's, spousal abuse, etc. But if you look at other countries, countries where women can't even show their faces, we (females) actually have it pretty damn good. In general, all around the world, women do have it worse, but to a certain extent. Slapping down laws about wife-beating and sexual discrimination against women doesn't help. Neither does letting it happen. So what should the government do? Well, they're doing what they can, and probably making money out of it, too. But I'd rather be stereotyped than be a victim of sexism. Yes, sexism does exist here, but so do stereotypes. There's a difference between the two. Learn it.

I am of the opinion that there are some areas where men are better suited than women, or women better suited than men. Such as: I believe that the president should be a man. I'm not saying that a woman couldn't do the job, but men were made to be the authority in a family by God, and are better suited for things such as wars and politics. Women, however, are more suited for things that women were created to do; caring for their families being the utmost among these. It's a woman's responsibility to clean house, take care of her children and spouse, etc. It's a man's responsibility to earn an income to provide for his family, protect them, and set a good example for them. I'm not saying that women shouldn't work, or that men shouldn't help out at home. I'm just saying those are the things that each gender is better suited for. There should be a balance between the two genders; a man is not necessarily stronger than a woman, but women aren't necessarily stronger than men, either. I.e., I don't think that men or women really 'have it worse'.

Women might have had it worse globally, but that's mostly because of the way the culture of the country or nation was brought up. If you think about the United States, people don't realize how recent it was just to allow women to vote. But I agree with 'kiri in that some things are just better suited for one gender over the other.
I personally associate men with wars a lot because I think it's part of a woman's.. I guess, characteristic to find a better, less violent way of resolving an issue.

Yeah. I've noticed that women are less violent than men. When they get revenge, they hurt, but not physically.
Personally, I think it's silly to stereotype due to gender. Even in America, women and girls are looked at at being weaker than their counterpart males: they're more likely to be a victim (although I know PLENTY of men who are wimps at this kind of thing), they're more likely to do something foolish (probably a Bibical allusion to Eve falling for the serpent's trick, but pretty much every guy I know has done something as equally as stupid), and they're more likely to be airheaded and/or narcissistic. Not all women are these, obviously. But it does make you wonder....
