Post what you think the best metal solo song is. There can be one solo in the song or a bunch it doesn't really matter. Put Them in a list top 5 or top 3 or top 10 as many as you want.
ps. please exclude bands such as Van Halen, Led Zeppelin because we all know that they have great solos BUT THEY AREN'T METAL!. AND NO FREEBIRD ITS NOT METAL. But I guess you include the Nuge if you want.
Here is my list
1. Phantom of the Opera-Iron Maiden 2. Heavy Metal- Judas Priest 3. Angel of Death- Slayer Now Dance of Death- Iron Maiden 4.Dance of Death-Iron Maiden Now Ram It Down-Judas Priest 5.Meet me at Midnight- King DiamondNow Evil Eyes- Savage Circus
Oh and by the way don't rate the solos just on speed alone. Anyone can noodle around 3 note really fast for 2 minutes and call it a solo.
As a subsection you can put your favorite riffs. ya know the fierce guitar/drum/bass that make you want to jump up and punch something.
Mine, not in any perticular order
1 Pagan's Mind- Embracing Fear 2 Slayer- Threshold 3 Mastodon- Blood and Thunder 4 Judas Priest- Ram It Down- Also a honorable mention for best solo. 5 Judas Priest- Wheels of Fire 6 Bruce Dickinson- Abduction 7 Iron Maiden- The Wicker Man 8 Iced Earth- 1776 9 Hammerfall- Renegade 10 Bruce Dickinson- King in Crimson

I said not to put Halen Or Zepp becasue they aren't metal but I added Nugent because a lot of his songs are influenced by and have influenced metal. And I mean, hes The Nuge hes great but i think im going to change my stranglehold nomination to something else. And yeah King Diamond was one behind Nugent so I think I might put them in.

Shade in the Shadow Nice choice with Embracing Fear. Which version? question The one off of Infinity Divine. Didn't even know there were two versions. Oh wait um theres a 2004 version and an original. Not the bonus track. The original.

I like Dimmu Borgir's solos but, even though I don't like them much yet, I love the Dragon Force solos. ninja

Nope I saw them in Worcester and they were good but nowhere near what I would have liked. So no, not very good live.
