I am currently taking Latin and enjoying it greatly, so I decided to share! Here is the random Latin word/phrase of the day:
De minimus non curat lex. - "The law doesn't care about trifles."

Here's another one:
Cave Canem - "Beware the dog."
-Note: In Latin, v's are pronounced as w's. Most likely this is because when carving words into their stone architechture, it was much easier for the Romans to carve a v than a w.

Thanks!
Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori. - "It is sweet and fitting to die for your country."
Dulce - sweet et - and decorum - fitting (the "um" denotes a direct object) est - is pro - for patria - native land, native country mori - death
*There are also no "it" or "a" in Latin. They must be placed in when translating.

I found this one amusing.
Calva turpius est nihil comato. - "There is nothing uglier than a bald man with hair."
This refers to men with stringy hair pulled into a combover. Even back in the days of BC it was a bad fashion statement!
I don't know all of these words, so I will translate what I know.
est - is nihil - nothing
