QUESTION!:: One reason I've always loved Pendragon was not only the plot and the characters (two must-haves) but the VOCABULARY!!! Honestly, how many other book characters wear "bright-freakin'-red shirt"s? Pendragon does! How many fantasy, sci-fi, or even fiction characters are afraid that "the electrodes would fart and blow us into a wall"(refering to Dado's driveing the car)? Pendragon does!!
BUT! His vocabulary has advanced along with his age and the current era. BUT HOW WOULD HE KNOW WHAT PHRASES ARE POPULAR???????? He's been on Second Earth for about 3 days in the past year. Not enough time to absorb the latest lingo, or, as I have also pointed out, enough to differentiate Jonny Depp from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or Pirates of the Carribean.
All quotes are from book 7. I was reading it on the bus ride home from school around... wow, only about 20 minutes ago... and came up with these questions.

I think one of my faveorate pendragon quotes as of late from pendragon is " It was about as flight-worthy as a wattermelon" and " I didn't think he was going to be cracking open a can of Friskies." both from Eelong.

I'm just thanking god he doesn't use the phrase "coolio" anymore. Ugh, geez Pendragon, "coolio"?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but was that ever a pop phrase? In recent years (I won't put it past the 80's or surfers to say it)? As for him knowing recent lingo and movies, I think that's a plothole. Good observation!

Why thankies. Because in the beginings, noting was bright-freakin-red. He never said the word Freakin'. Now he does. But I love the second one. How do electrodes fart?

My, my, my, the Pen site wasn't the only ones to notice. Yeah, we saw that a while back too, that it didn't make much sense. A lot of people were pissed too on how Bobby knew. Hopfully he'll be more careful in the future.

Bob_Henry I say coolio... cry :sniff: Aw... I didn't mean to insult people who say Coolio *hugs* I've just never heard the word until Pendragon and it made me giggle. I'm sure I use a lot of odd phrases, like "For the love of Betsy!" or, "Neato Shido Burrito!" or, "Yeah, your mom's cool" (actually that last one's a movie quote and I just say it when the mood strikes)... So don't worry Bob Henry, you are cool for saying coolio!
