... it'd be cheaper than an addiction to books when you live 8 hours away from the nearest book store. And you haven't been to THAT one in two years...
Long story short: there was an intervention and so I had to leave some dear friends behind. Actually... I'm only assuming the books would have become good friends as I didn't get a chance to read them.
**Please note that the following is a severe dramaization due to my incredible hyperness of finally getting a 'fix' of new books...**
It was horrible! They would dangle two books off the shelf over top of a fire and make me leap over the flames to save one, but not the other! They dropped my new possible friends by HALF!! It was like a nightmare made real because when I'd run for the fire extinguisher it would move farther and farther away and I couldn't save the books!! And then!! It got worse! There was a REALLY hot guy (and hot guys never notice me... or I scare them away... depends on your perception I guess) and he said hi to me and I said hi to him and then noticed that one of my favorite authors was on one shelf over and the books that I was trying to find by her were there and I totally ignored him and ... and that's becoming a very annoying run on sentence isn't it.
Anyhoo... the cashier looked ready to laugh his rear off at me because even with the admittedly dramatized intervention I STILL had an arm load of books that I could barely carry...
I should call VISA and tell them to automatically decline any purchase from a book store or book store website...
But then I'd be the one jittering outside the store asking random people if they could please spare me a quarter so that I can feed my addiction and they'll all think I'm some kind of weird spaced out *chooses not to name anything* and throw stuff at me and then I'll turn into that weird cat lady that lives in the cardboard box outside fo Chapters.
Another run-on sentence. I should just go read my books...

I love reading. If I could, I'd live at the book store.

If the internet didn't exist, I'd be reading more than I sleep. Which is not a lot... but you get the point.

Heh- yeah. I am addicted to reading in general. Me and book stores.. I'm seriously not allowed in walking distance with my mother unless its a special occasion and I have at least fifty dollars of gift certificates.
I thought I could handle working at a book store.. then I had a dream about it and I kept reading the back of the books I would check out and then I would be like: Oh, I'm sorry, miss. I can't let you buy this book because I HAVENT READ IT YET and I would shove it under the counter and scare the customers away and then just sit and read books instead of working.. It was scary.
T___T My mom used to freaking box up my books and take them away when I got in trouble was a kid. She would make me go outside and amuse my little brother.. THATS how addicted to books I am..
Edit: XDD I love the poll return, guys. Shows how much of addicts WE are.

Hi. My name's Annie, and I'm a book-aholic.
Granted, it's the second thing that sucks more money out of my paycheck (after gas for the car, but that's only once every two or three weeks). And almost every book I own has been read at least twice.
I haven't done much reading lately, though. School keeps me busy reading other things emo

Yeah, I'm totally adicted to books. My problem is that I don't have enough money to fund my addiction xp . Sometimes I talk my Mom into getting me a few, but that's rare. Most of the people I know look at me like I've got two heads because I read so much. Yep, I've re-read my books so many times I have them half memorized.

It's like you're me, or I'm you, but with different font colors. If you have ten fingers too, then I'll be your friend forever and ever. heart
BTW - your siggy makes me sad. *ish in med. school* Just kidding. It's awesome, actually ^^

It's got ED in it. I love Ed.
And haha, I can recite the first chapter of Harry Potter One from memory! And several quotes.
And that's just the books I read, not to say anything about the ones I WRITE.

When I was in grade three I had a grade twelve reading level... which meant the Reading badge was a gimme when I was in scouts...
In grade four I got in trouble and had to sit in the corner and stare at a wall while people read the first chapter of The Hobbit out loud...
I got sent to the office when I started correcting pronounciation but got sidetracked by the library
I wasn't allowed outside for morning recess for a week and had to do math instead... I hate math.
It was totally worth it.
Now I spend a lot of time NOT reading... but when I do pick up a book I have to be careful because that's all I'll do until I'm finished it... and then, since i'm in the mood.... etc ad infinitum... is that right? Ad Infinitum?
