So yeah, our school just had its first pep rally in like......13 years. So the band of course had to stand out in a corner of the feild (so the cheerleaders could have room). We were the only ones who had to stand but otherwise i guess it was pretty fun....
does anyone else have to play (unnoticed) at pep rallies?

We have to play for about three pep rallies each year (before homecoming and two rivalry games), although I don't know if it will continue since they moved band to first period. Our pep rallies are fourth period, and I don't know if they'll let us out early to get ready. Fortunately, they usually get everyone to shut up when we start playing.

That's so wrong that they care more about the cheerleaders than the marching band. Jerks...our band marches around the gym and then ends up at one end. And man are they noticeable!

yeah we've got a few pep rallies... we stand in the corner of the gym and when we play we take up half the gymt hen when we dont' we cant even go pas the sidelines. needless to say.. many make outs go unnoticed haha. we play as theyre goin in then in the middle then fight song and school song then misc... then we usually runt hrough our marching show for extra practice (*snorts*)
and funny bout your poll... i knew he had a thing, but it was in my hatbox, and i forgot about it.. so during band we went outside to march (cuz we march 1.5 hours during school then 2.5 after, every day) and we came back inside 10 mins to spare and i was like "OMFG" so i had to call my mom to bring my lyre so i wouldnt fail inspection for somethin as stupid as that.

We never have our lyres because no one ever tells the band that we have a pep rally until about five minutes before everyone starts crowding into the stadium.

I have to play, but very little. We have miniature music pages in a mini folder thing we all got. (not a flip folder, though I own one of those) All my band usually plays is the school song, fight song and maybe one other thing. We usually do cadences too. It's been two for forever because people like 'em a lot.

We only play in our first pep rally of the year.
Pretty much anyone with a car skips them, and I thought I would, too... but I'm in Chorus this year, and I have to sing. NOOOO! D:

we just had our first prep, I mean pep rally today, and everyone shuts up for us cause if our BAD a** drum line!!!other than that we play allright music.
But what always gets me is when we play for our dance team we end up being COMPLETELY ignored. evn the dance team ignores us. >.O I hate our dance team.
Then there's our cheerleaders... lets put it this way... I don't like them and they DO NOT like me.

yep. yesterday was our homecoming game and rally. the marching band of course is also the pep band lol so we sit in our little corner while all the teams are brought out and recognized and they could care less about the marching band who has been practicing our butts off ever since july. lol sorry. makes me kinda mad that the school recognizes a golf team that has 2 players on it, and they don't even pay atention to the 124 member band that goes to competitions and everything, just like the sprts teams
