Well, I tried using alchemy a little while ago...and couldn't seem to do anything. I thought to myself, "Well, this transmutation just must be too hard for me right now," and decided to try something simpler. Red ink. Perfect circle, perfectly straight lines where needed...I used tools to make sure the lines were complete and perfect. And, for some reason, I couldn't seem to use a simpler transmutation circle, either. I'm not sure I understand what I'm doing wrong. Placing my hands on the circle, charging it, the symbols are correct, I checked them. Am I missing a step?

Number of possible problems, really ^^;;

First, exactly what are you trying to do? Are you hoping to put multiple objects in this circle and combine them, or what? The circle needs to be drawn to reflect its purpose. And the purpose needs to be specific. If you create a circle for the sake of combining sugar and water into concentrated sugar water, then you need to have symbols and lines to mark the sugar, the water, and portray how they'll combine.

Second, did you perhaps attempt something with vague components? An alchemic array to "seperate any two items" isn't possible as far as I know, and is deadly if possible.

Third, did you actually have the components? Testing and array without the objects in it won't have any results. Some people may expect to see something odd that'll hint to them that the array works, but really nothing happens unless all components are present.

Fourth, are you sure you powered the array correctly? Some people expect the array to work on its own- but it can't work without your energy. In fact- your energy practically is the array (if your imagination is good enough you can create an array with just energy and it'll work. the lines you draw are simply a guideline so you don't forget what you were doing)

Also- make sure that you FULLY comprehend the meaning of each symbol you use. Don't just build an array because someone told you what that array will do. Build an array because you know what every symbol in it means. The symbols are merely a mental focus. If we don't understand their power of meaning, they then have no power or meaning and cease to work for us.

This is all I can think of off the top of my head, really ^^;; There may be more reasons the array didn't work, though. If you told us what you were trying to do and showed us your array we might be able to help more =3

Well, I'd show you the array, but unfortunately our whole $%&@ing printer/scanner combination thingywhozit is busted, and my computer art skills SUCK. *coughs* I didn't do anything to it, I swear...really. I would never even /think/ of driving an axe through it 'cause it ticked me off! Whatever gave you that idea?

Well, I can describe it based upon the symbols I put into it. I put the symbol for earth...the upside down triangle with a line through it...the symbol for...er...can't remember at the moment, dang it all, but it's the thing that sorta looks like the omega symbol...and...I put the symbol for water in there, too.

I think I must've screwed up the circle for what I'm doing, since according to all the other things you listed, it should've worked. I've got all the components I need...Oh, wait, no I don't, nevermind. I'm missing something. Let me go and get that last piece and I'll see what I can do.

As for what I'm doing, it's simple, really. I found a dead cricket with a body that was split into two pieces, and am trying to get the body back into one piece. NOIAMNOTGOINGTOTRYTOBRINGBACKACRICKET. Just put it back into one piece.

I have to disagree here ^^;; Even though symbols have no real powers in and of themselves, they help us to realize what we're accomplishing and give our mind's a focus. This focus allows us to do things that we couldn't without such directed thought.

The problems comes in when you have too many symbols sweatdrop - made that mistake - You begin to forget what they all are, and if you can't recall the array from memory then it won't work.
