I think Lee is strong but Itachi would win in my opinion. Although if Lee learned how to fight without looking at their faces then it might be even.

Haruko Uchiyuki you guys can't be serious itachi would win without even breaking a sweat well my reasonings are.one itachi is practicly blind! his onyl good thing going for him is his eyes and rock lee is fast enough to not be caught and he doesnt have to look in itachis eyes and to the guy up there that said itachi would flee fromt he scene hes have a hard time when lee could EASILY catch up with him

With all due respect, I believe that Itachi would win over Lee, in base experience alone. Itachi is a genius that outranks both Sasuke and Negi together. He became a Captain of an Anub cell at the age of 12. However it was not for just his kekki genki, otherwise Sasuke and Negi would be atleast Jonin by the time of the Chunin exam's.
Plus, although the gates are a strong technique, Itachi has had a lot of experience on the battlefield, it's more than likely he's seen that technique, coppied it, and found out it's flaws, how to exploit those flaws and how to counter that technique.
While Lee is cool, it would not be wise to use the gate tech. against a battle hardened opponent. At most all Lee can hope for is to kill Itachi by killing himself. I can't see anyway for Lee to walk away from this fight. Sorry... sweatdrop

Not only was he able to watch everymove Lee and Gaara made, but he was able to catch Gaaras movements when both Lee and Gai couldn't. The Sharingan follows Chakra, that's how it mimmics jutsu's. (Ex. When Lee and Sasuke fought, Sasuke copied Lee's actions even though he wasn't able to follow Lee's movements. However this is only due to the fact that he was still learning how to use his Sharingan.) And as far as the idae of Lee's being able to fight Itachi without looking at him. Explaine to me how you can fight a moving target, without seeing it. Only Jedi have this power. I'm sorry if it seems like flaming, but please understand that although Lee's a great character, it's his valnurablility that makes most of us root for him. Itachi is an uber-strong character, and all information suggests that Itachi won't fight fare! He's a cheating basstard like his bro. and Cheap to boot. As much as I'd love Lee to woop Itachi he'd never win. He can't even beat Negi, the poor guy. Lee need's to pound a lot of these loser's but it's an uphill battle all the way.

Remember that everyone was watching the fight, and by the expressions from the rest of the addience, only Kakashi was able to watch the entire fight. (I seriously dought EVERYBODY else closed there eyes with Gai at the same time...Although that would be freaky cool! xd ) And as far as the Byakugans weakness. The Rotation more than makes up for this flaw. During the fight with Naruto, even when the Fox's Chakara was being used, Negi's rotation still worked! If it wasn't for the Shadow Doppoganger(sic) Naruto might have lost! btw, In my opinion the Rotation is the Cheapest weapon in Negi's bag of tricks. That said, Being so cheap, Itachi probably copied it from the head of the Hyuga(sic) clan. Lee should learn some medic-nin techniques. Since his jutsus kick the crap outof him with each use, some healing arts just might help Lee go the distance! (First-aid really can save lives.) And real first-aid doesn't need Chakra! mrgreen
