Learning Hebrew can be difficult. 3nodding
I feel very close to my religion, for several reasons. One is that my community is very supportive. Another is that I have a lot of pride in my heritage and religion. I feel it is a link to others and that it gives us strength. I may not follow all the rules, but I don't think that makes my faith in G-d any less.

Arent those denominations?
I dont really see how denominations can count as how strong your beliefs are. They are just groups who believe the same things in different ways.
I for one have seen many reformed jews who are very strong in their beliefs and strangely enough, a few orthodox who are weak in their beliefs.
The poll should really list something like "die-hard, strong, weak" or others of the like for how strong your beliefs are or the question should be what denomination of judaism you belong to.

Rikaku 69 Among the nations Judaism has been failing and failing hard. Sometimes we need to fall first in order to rise. But you wern't talking about that kind of fall, unfortunately... Some don't even consider other forms as failure of judaism... They consider it as just a different religion. I see it differently. We are all jews, despite what we beleive in. Even if someone beleives different than someone else, that doesn't make them an "un-kosher" jew. Though if a jew betrays his entire nation... well... stare

Right now, I'm a mixture of reform/conservative, trying to be come more conservative. I'm a bit biased when I say this, but I also think that Judaism is Judaism, as long as you don't believe in Christ. sweatdrop

There are plenty of people that call themselves jews, and don't beleive in jesus, yet they are NOT jews, and they are making a mockery out of the religion... sweatdrop . I wonder sometimes how some of those really distant forms of judiasm pop up. There are things that are written so clearly in the Torah, that it's almost painful to see how they completely ignore it. If you are a Jew, you must accept all of the Torah. If you don't accept part of the Torah, you basically deny that it was written by G-d, otherwise, you wouldn't have dropped out parts of it. You either take it all, or you take nothing.

Jews for Jesus is a proselytizing group that targets Jews for conversion and that is their sole purpose for existing. Some of their members are Jews (non-practicing, obviously!) It's not the same thing as Messianic Jews. They are evil and will stalk the hell out of you if they know you're Jewish. They were on my campus last year and one of them followed my friend to class. She was convinced the chick would be gone since her class was from 6 to 9 PM, but nope, after class that crazy b***h was still there waiting for her. My friend had to get a professor to intervene and escort her to her car so that she wouldn't be harrassed.

The reminds me of this time that my family and I were leaving from visiting my aunt in college and on the ride hom suddenly a J-4-J van was behind us and followed us for miles gonk We kept wondering "how do they know who we are?!" since we have no markings on our car advertising to the world our religion. It was freaky in a way, we eventually lost them when we turned off the freeway and hid in a Wendy's parking lot.
