This was Aaron Sorkin's other rlygewd show about the behind-the-scenes of a sports show called, um, Sports Night. ABC was retarded with it and it only lasted 2 seasons. Sorkin actually got numerous offers from Showtime, HBO, and the like to have it picked up for more new episodes, but he decided to let it rest so he could concentrate fully on The West Wing.
