..or Bella really for that matter.
Both characters seemed too....something.
I dunno, I can't put my finger on it. The reason I kept reading was the Cullen family. They intrigued me.
And when it got to the part where Edward took Bella to his house. Well...I was ecstatic. Up till that point I found the book rather...monotonous.
"Edward I love you!"
"Oh Bella! I love you too!"
"Will you kiss me!?"
"NO! I could rip your throat out!"
"Be with me forever Edward!"
"Of course, you're the only love I've ever known."
"Will you kiss me?"
"b***h do you want to die?"
Over and over again. For at least fifty pages. D: Sorry, I'm just not one for the whole clingy/angsty love thing. Vampires or no vampires (though it’s slightly more interesting with the vampires of course).
But the Cullens themselves? Fascinating. From the moment I first read about them, sitting at their table all by themselves, I wanted to know more. And when I thought, more than half way through, that there would be no (at least) glimpse into the other Cullen character's lives, well...I was seriously bummed. I mean, from the very beginning I realized their potential and wanted to get to know them better, but it really didn’t look like we'd get to hear more about them for quite some time.
But when Edward said he was taking Bella to his house to the meet the rents I was like "OH SCORE! Finally! Something (I hope) worth reading!" Don't get me wrong, Edward and Bella are okay, but I mean...ughh...I already explained that part though didn't I?
OKAY!
So, we're taken to the Cullen manor and we finally get to see them. Alice, who doesn't remember her past. Esme, who tried to kill herself after losing a child. Rosalie, who most wants to, once again, be human. All these things made the book come alive. It added a depth (I thought) had been lacking. There was just so much more to think about other than the whole "I love you, but can't be with you" thing.
Does that make sense? Do you hate me now that I’ve admitted to being a closet Edward/Bella disliker?

Personally, the angsty love bits were the parts I love. But then again, I don't read (or like) anything that doesn't have romance in it. I really am a hopeless romantic.
But, I see what you mean, and how that could get boring. And learning about the family was really interesting. It showed how Stephenie Meyer really liked and cared about her characters. It also added demension to Edward's world.
But I don't like Bella. And not because she gets Edward. She always sort of bored me...even though some of the stuff she says lightens the mood of the book, and I wouldn't want anyone else to narrate. Except for Edward n Midnight Sun.

It's okay to dislike. I love Bella and Edward, and also the angsty romance that occurs between them, but I'm not going to hate you just because you think otherwise.
I can see your point. I really loved getting to know Edward's family myself. I absolutely love Carsile and Alice and the others are great, too. I think you are right that the book would be lacking something without them. they really add depth, putting us further into Bella and Edward's story.

To be honest with you guys. I want to know more about Jacob Black. He has got to be my favourite character (especially after reading New Moon). There just isnt a lot about him in Twilight, but more does come out in New Moon.
About the Cullens...I do love them. Especially Alice and Jasper. They're my favourite couple in both books.

I am a teenager who happens to live on angsty love right now. <3 Is it because I have low self-esteem or something?
I want to know about Alice and Jasper so ridiculously bad though. I read all the fics on them. XD They're a tad bit more interesting. I think I'd die of happiness if angsty love was brought down on them.
-OMGPITCHFORKS!- Nah, it's cool. You just seem to have a thoughtful head on your shoulders. :3

Ahh, that's what I think about her. I'm sure I'd like her more if she weren't the narrator, but then again...I don't know how much I'd like it if Edward was the narrator either. I'd really like to see a book on the Cullen family in general. Each gets his or her own section, telling the complete story of their transformation from human to vampire and the paths they took to find each other.

They're a necessary/vital part to getting into the book. Without them, there would seriously be Edward/Bella overload, and (I think) a lot less people would like the book. Whenever someone I know mentions his or her (usually her) it's always "ZOMG EDWARD CULLEN!!! heart heart Oh, and that Alice chick, you know, Edward's sister."

All we really got in Twilight was that she didn't like Bella that much and that she longed to be human once again. We didn't really get any other insight other than that. No one seems to like her, but...I can't help myself. Sure I like Alice and Esme more, but I think she's my top third Cullen. If it turns out she really is just some bitter thing...then I won't like her as much. And about Jasper...he didn't really seem that interesting in the first book (I haven't read the next one so I don't know what pans out after that), and the only thing I really remember about him, besides his unique talent, is that he and Alice are a couple.

He didn't have a big enough part in Twilight for me to get a great liking for her. All we really know is that he may be a werewolf and that he (along with every other male in Forks it seems) has a huge crush on Bella. I wasn't too impressed with him.

I can only tolerate so many stories about how "not perfect" she is. I was kind of like "I get it...you're a clumsy, insecure teenager. So is everyone else." It seemed like Meyer was beating the dead horse with a metal pipe (stick seemed to nice).

I like Rosalie, but since I've only read the first, it's hard to know exactly what's going on with her. I don't have a reason to -hate- her. I think she's one of those people who has a love/hate outlook on life. There's no in-between. I think I can see why she's so bitter towards Bella though. I just don't find her as interesting as Alice or Jasper.
I'd like to hear about their journey and exacly how they turned; things like that. They seemed to have a bit more difficulty than the rest of them. Except for maybe Rosalie...carrying Emmett all that way? Woah.

Shimoya "Edward I love you!" "Oh Bella! I love you too!" "Will you kiss me!?" "NO! I could rip your throat out!" "Be with me forever Edward!" "Of course, you're the only love I've ever known." "Will you kiss me?" "b***h do you want to die?" Lol! That was funny, I may not agree, and it may have been a little harsh, but it was funny.

I think there has to be more to Rosalie than just being a bitter little soul. Hopefully. If not, she may one day plot Bella's murder...or something lethal like that. I would love to know more about her, because I don't want to be stuck just seeing as I do now--a jelous, bitter person. There has to be more to her than just that.

That's a weird way to put it:
"Edward I love you!"
"Oh Bella! I love you too!"
"Will you kiss me!?"
"NO! I could rip your throat out!"
"Be with me forever Edward!"
"Of course, you're the only love I've ever known."
"Will you kiss me?"
"b***h do you want to die?"
But i totally agree with you something should change, its gonna get old...
